It started out as a Belgo-American menage a trois, but then the brewers arrived and transformed the trans-oceanic affair into a beery lover pentangle. The collaborative minds at Louisville Beer Store, De Struise Brouwers and New Albanian Brewing Company offer this, a willfully disobedient Blonde India Pale Ale with a hop on her shoulder. Malts: Rahr 2-Row, Rahr Premium Pils, Castle (Belgian) Aromatic, CaraPils Hops: Cascade, Galena, Golding, Cascade for warm dry-hopping Yeast: De Struise House Ale OG 14.4 degrees plato IUB: 69

Aroma is mild Belgian spice. Hazy golden color, small white head. Has that Belgian taste that is getting popular. Not bitter, slightly sweet. Medium body. Liked this!

Sampled at esbls. Golden but with some color, too. A blotchy off white foam. Floral hops with yeast and malts. Some bitterness. Farmhouse effects.

It poured a clear golden color with a white head. The aroma was juicy of citrusy hops, grapefruits, pineapples and some spicy hop notes with a little pils malt aromas. The taste was a little spicy, citrusy and saison-like with some pils maltiness. Very nice.

Rated on 11-08-2013 (Bottle) This beer forms a large smooth, fizzy off-white head, transparent golden body, slow rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The Aroma is malty, wheat, pine hops, fruity, and lightly spicy. The Taste is lightly bitter, yeasty, bready malts, and pine hops. The Palate is very creamy and this IPA is light-medium body. Overall, this beer is not overly hoppy tasting for the style and is worth trying.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy auburn colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated transparent golden orange colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy and floral. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mild hoppy aftertaste. The tasty flavor contained notes of wood mild citrus mild caramel and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

draft. poured yellow with white fluffy head and plenty of lacing. nose is of hops and Belgian yeast. the flavor appears to be nicely balanced between the ipa of the hops and the Belgian yeast making for an interesting beer. not overpowering in either direction you do get the hops and you get the belgain yeast strains and flavors.

Pours a hazy golden orange from the bottle with thin white head and light lace. Aroma is malty sweetness, then citrus and pepper. Taste follows, citrus up front, oats in the middle, Belgian yeast pepper ending, hops linger but not bitter. Very much grains of paradise. Not great, but not bad.

Not a bad beer but not a great beer. Can really taste the belgian yeast. Enjoyed at actor’s block party.

Draft into red Solo cup at Actors Theatre 50th Anniversary block party. Aroma: reminds me more of a Belgian ale than an IPA- pretty yeasty with dough, gum notes, (perhaps) coriander and a light dose of floral hops. Appearance: (as far as I could tell) is royal gold with thick, whipped topping white head. Flavor: matches the nose; the Belgian yeasts seem to subdue the hop character quite a bit; it’s in there, but definitely masked. There is a moderate amount of lingering bitterness in the finish. Palate: medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: A nice Belgian ale, but didn’t strike me as a particularly exemplary one.

If it looks like a ipa and smells like a blonde whore, it is a blonde whore. After all it is naughty by nature. It does have a hoppy appearance. The lace is nice, which I do appreciate on a blonde whore. The mouthfeel is like a blonde, not an IPA. Not real sure what I think about this. I'd give her a tip and tell her I'd be back for dirty seconds. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
