COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Excessive hopping rendered moot a modest plan to brew a seasonal winter warmer, and since the original batch was brewed on Election Day, 2002, Elector continued to make democracy pointless and redefine the Imperial Red category.

English & American malts; Cascade & Galena hops; London yeast. Dry-hopped. O.G. 1072

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Reddish with a nice tan head and cool lacing. A hoppy nose is tart. But the flavorvis more malty and fruitier. It is lightly hopped with fruit and bitterness. Nice.

Draft. Rich O’s. Dark amber with a thin tan head. Sweet malty and citrusy aroma. Dry, citrus, big caramel finish.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle via trade. It pours a deep amber color with a small but thick off white head. The nose has some biscuit and malt notes with a light bit of resin from the hop side. The flavor is a little on the flat side with some toasted malt and resin. This one didn’t do much for me. It’s not bad per se, just not very inspiring either.

Thanks to drfabulous for this one as a bonus. Pours a deep copper with a tan head. Nose is deep malt, toffee, and hints of booze with some dark fruit. Flavor is similar, but hops and yeast dominate while malt takes a bit of a back seat. A bit lighter in body and somewhat dry in the finish. Smells malty and tastes hoppy. Interesting, but I like it a bit maltier.

Boring beer. The term "excessive hopping" is not what I would call this beer. Almost reminds me of an english bitter with more booze. Hops are muted and sprucy and the malts are sweet and nutty.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2011 Red ale, yum red ale. No real hops, some malts. Those same red malts that kinda suck. Yea those. You know

Draft at NA, pours a copper with white head. Nose of red fruit, juicy hop notes, and bubblegum. Flavors of caramel, juicy fruity hop notes, and brown sugar. An easy drinking hoppy red ale.

DalzAle (1736) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - OCT 25, 2011
Bottle thanks to StFun! Very dark amber pour, tons of frothy carbonation and a spicy malty nose. Flavor has a nice malty backbone, more black pepper/spicy hops, herbs and finished a littly hoppy and thin on the body. Another good suggestion Josh, I’ll keep this in mind the next time I’m in Indiana!

Tap at brewery. Sweet creamy toffee malt aroma with a hint of hops. Clear amber color with small head and nice lacing. Sweet light cherry malt and moderate bitter orange peel finish. Excellent.
