COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Excessive hopping rendered moot a modest plan to brew a seasonal winter warmer, and since the original batch was brewed on Election Day, 2002, Elector continued to make democracy pointless and redefine the Imperial Red category.

English & American malts; Cascade & Galena hops; London yeast. Dry-hopped. O.G. 1072

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2010 Sample at Heorot in Muncie, IN. The beer pours a clear brownish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark malt, caramel and hops. Medium body with flavors of piney hops and malt plus a touch of citrus. The finish is hoppy up front and settles to a sweet malty aftertaste. Decent Imperial Red overall.

tap at Indiana winterfest - Pours amber and has a nice, earthy, hopped aroma. The flavor is of caramel malt with big, citrus accented hops and a bitter finish. It’s medium bodied and very enjoyable.

On tap at the 2010 Microfest in St. Louis. Pours a clear reddish-brown with a substantial off white head. Taste is sweet toasted malt, caramel and assertive hoppiness. Very good and well balanced, but not an IPA. An imperial Irish red ale.

Tap - Sweet red licorice aroma with a pine hop back. Flavor is very sweet caramel malt with a bitter hop finish. Palate is syrupy and sticky. Not offensive but too sweet for me.

Sampled from the tap at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured a clear amber brown with a yellowish brown head. Aroma was full of citrus and spruce hops. Flavor was a bit more subdued with some malt coming into the profile with citrus hops at the beginning and pine hops at the finish.

a very yummy, albeit moderately mild, i.p.a. one of my favorite go-to beers, and one of the best new albanian recipes.

On Tap - The Trion! Impressive Beer! Great Malty nose... well balanced with aromas of caramel and dough with a background of citrus hops. Pours a fairly clear amber with a frothy, slightly tan head. Lacing was hard to judge because of the small size of the glass. (The flight paddles that the Trion offers are great to try new beers, but make for a difficult judgement on head at times.) Taste and palate are immediately enjoyable... not overly sweet with a medium-full body and creamy texture. Carbonation was soft, which lent well to the style... finish was not long but faded enjoyably. A very drinkable beer!

Pours ruby/amber with a tan head. Aroma is citrusy hops and a little bit of caramel. Flavor is nice blend of citrusy and earthy hops, with a nice caramel malt backbone. Pretty good.
