BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 21, 2008 Indiana Microbrewers Fest: Golden hue with a big head and good lace. A wonderful nose with hints of tropical fruits (mango, pineapple), biscuity malts, dusty yeast and a phenolic tone. The taste had a big snap of bitterness and booze. Chalky and biscuity undertone. The mouth feel is sharp and hot, not all that refreshing. Different for sure, just a tad too much boozy character for me. thegreenrooster (1447), St.louis, Missouri, USA Jun 7, 2008 Pour is a golden with a white head. Aroma is a nice biscuit with a hoppy backbone. Flavor is again lots of dry malts and a nice hoppy aftertaste. Very easy to drink and the alcohol is no problem. Think of pilsner urqueli but to the extreme! cdeaton (66), Madison, Indiana, USA May 29, 2008 Extremely surprised this checked in at 8.5%. Well-hidden alcohol with nice floral notes and a crisp finish. Enjoyable. Strykzone (880), Wood River, Illinois, USA Apr 15, 2008 Golden body with no visible carbonation and a smallish white head. Nice lacing. Hop aroma. It is full of hop but also honey and some balancing malt. The hops offer both pine and floral flavors. The high abv was not really noticed. sneagrams3 (1342), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Apr 15, 2008 Tasted 4/12/08. The Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition festival. Filtered with a bright golden hue. Off white head. Crisp hops with a fruity hop nose. Super smooth. Low acidity. Tight effervescence. Big dry and bitter hops. tart and sticky. Lively. Crisp honey and pine hop flavors. Lingering bitterness. Fine brew!
