Jan 6, 2008 Pours dark reddish amber with a mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma is similar to Elector: piney, grapefruit, and crystal malt. Taste is resinous, tropical fruits, grapefruit, vinous hops with a bit of residual lactose sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and lightly resinous with moderate carbonation. The lactose was really only dectable in the mouthfeel, and just contributed to a slickness and light sweetness. I agree with mnurda, this is much more like a hoppy red ale.

Feb 19, 2007 Tried this after a large meal of Rich-Os delicious pizza, so my taste buds were a bit numb. But I think I would like this beer on a hot day. A nice hoppy Red sort of Ale. Will definitely try this again when I return in March.

Jul 1, 2006 Draft - deep crimson to ruby body. Almost purple. A small ring of beige foam. Malty aroma. The flavor is a bit sweet and maybe a touch sour with a hint of bitterness. Interesting, but I wouldn’t plan a session around it.

May 28, 2006 On tap from the St. Louis Microfest. Dark ruby hue with an off-tan head. Sweet malt nose. Creamy with a bitter hop finish. slight woody note?
