TAR (1995), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA Mar 30, 2003 Draft: Hazy apricot. Sandy, sticky lacework. Lovely bready malt aroma with a plethora of grapefruit overtones, spoiled peach, vague cinnamon and pine, pepper, and caramel. Tiny bubbles ride the palate firmly. Biscuity flavors are followed by a fruity middle and some cotton candy notes. A huge thrust of malt then proceeds, which leads to some delicate peach notes. A coarse hop leaf aspect emerges toward the end. Big juicy hop finish, reminiscent of Styrian Goldings, with a touch of passion fruit. A heavily hopped Sotttish ale is an understatement. Excellent balance, complexity, and drinkability.
