The aroma is caramel, roasty and hops. Pours a yellow/copper cloudy with an off white head somewhat lasting. The taste is bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation average and the finish bitter. Overall not bad.

Rated on 6-06-2012 (Bottle) This beer has a medium sized smooth off-white head with a lengthy retention, hazy golden body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, earthy and caramel malt. The flavor is moderately bitter, citrus hops, semi-sweet, and caramel malt. This beer has a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is soft carbonation and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, this beer has a lingering hoppy aftertaste, but not overly hoppy tasting for the style.

Bomber from Total Wine in Jensen Beach. No idea how old it is. Pours an unclear orangey copper with a white head leaving coats of lace down the sides of the glass. Aroma has pine and citrus and fruits, with oranges and pineapple quite strong, and caramel. Taste is sweet fruits, led by pineapple, bitter orange peel and a solid caramel malt backbone. Medium bodied with very little alcohol presence for over 10%. Finishes quite balanced between bitter and sweet. Solid, well balanced brew.

22 oz bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and resinous. Hoppy and bitter with resinous notes. Medium bodied with bitter finish. Average for the style.

@ Whitey’s Liquor / Lawrenceburg IN --- Clear dark amber with a persistent 1" ivory head, streaks of lace. Taste is strong caramel malt that moves quickly to only a lightly bittered finish, then yields to an odd bittersweet sour butter malt that lingers. Perhaps this is not fresh, but the abv would suggest a long shelf life. Not good for me.

12 oz at Yogi’s. Aroma is okay, not much to speak of. Taste is caramel backbone, some pine, some alcohol. Decent beer.

On draft at Yogis in Bloomington. Pours golden amber with a thin white head and good lacing. The ABV is hidden well with the strong hop aroma and flavor. A bit of carmel taste which isn't my favorite character for an IPA. Overall not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty good beer. No aroma to really speak of. Really smooth tasting though for an imperial.

Strange beer; almost no hop nose at all. Starts like an Amber but finishes very bitter. Interesting beer, but definitely not what I'd consider a DIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My Bottom Line:
This floral and resinous strong ale is engulfed in honeyed caramel before a disproportionate hop bitterness takes hold of the palate.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A thin slice of foam stays atop the cloudy dark amber.
-The carbonation is quite soft, which makes the body feel heavier.
-The mouthfeel is a tad too oily sweet for my tastes.
-Malt and hop flavours could be better defined.
-This is certainly flavourful, but it remains a simple and hefty strong ale.
-The Imperial India Pale Ale mention on the label is disappointing…
