3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber thanks to queenholly, pours a murky copper/orange with small white head. Aroma is yeasty and heavy on toffee malts. Taste has a bite hop spice into caramel and toffee malts with some bitterness and light citrus. An English IPA with almost a barley wine flavor. A bit lacking on hops however.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Orangish straw, hazy, thin to moderate frothy sandy head, spotty lacing.   Citrusy hopped nose, a little bit candied.   Smells inviting.   Soft citrusy hops on the tongue, mildly sweet, a little candied citrus peel.   Surprisingly light for a 10.7% ABV.   Some dank and musty notes.   Not bright, but clean, comes across as a majorly strong English IPA.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering musty candied citrus peel notes.   Enjoyable.   Thanks for the bottle Jeff!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A - Pours a hazy golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of grapefruit, pineapple, citrus, and pine hops with some caramel and biscuit malts.
T - Starts off with grapefruit, tropical, and citrus hops with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, some pine and floral hops come through with some more bitterness and some biscuit malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit, grassy, and floral hops with bitterness and some sweet bready malts.
M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice hop profile and bitterness throughout. Great overall balance with good body.

Draft to taster at the brewhouse. Looks solid; a transparent copper with white lacing. Smells hoppy and doughy. Tastes solid; like it smells, only better, with nice balance and a good mouthfeel. Abv is hidden well too. Nice.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
In short: A sugary, somewhat boozy and dry-piney IPA. Not a fun beer at all
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed relatively fresh one month after purchase, bottle forwarded to me by drfabulous, thanks Jeff
The look: Clear orange-blonde, lots of small particles, medium white head leaving good lacing on the glass
In long: Nose is rather discreet for a monster 11% Double IPA, light alcohol fumes and some light dry pine tree notes. Taste is equally simplistic. Sugary caramel, very sweet with a strong refined white sugar flavor, some booze, dry pine tree that seems to dry out the finish more than adding bitterness. The piney dryness is actually quite assertive and contrasts a lot with the sweet sugary attack. Alcohol is overall well hidden. The attack was too sugary-sweet and the dry piney finish was too abrasive. Could have used fruity flavors or something else to make it more refreshing. But as it is, I didn’t find it a fun beer to drink and I had a hard time finishing my bomber. Hoptimus for a hoppy beer, how original, a quick ratebeer search shows that seven breweries have a hoppy beer named Hoptimus, this name is as creative as the dude who named the place where me make fire “fireplace”.

On tap pours dark amber in color. Malty, hoppy taste with strong hints of dried fruits and caramel. Could taste the high alcohol content.

Growler courtesy of Paul at a tasting at his place. Pours a clear amber with brown hues and a thin to medium sized white head. Oxidization and age apparent on the nose, fruit and plums. Medium bodied, sweet and old. Malt, touch of hops, toast, malt. Moves into an oxidized bitterness with some remnants of hops.
