Bomber from Liz. Pours very dark brown with a slight, transient beige head. Aroma is sort of a reminder of some sort of English breakfast dark malty thing. It has cola aspects and seems just a bit salty. It’s pretty tasty.

Sample at IBG 2010 Winterfest. Poured black color with medium brown creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee malt aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted malt flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Interesting solid brew.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of drfabulous. Thanks! Deep brown/black appearance with a small brown head that dissipates quickly. Toasty, dark malty, anise, candy sugar, chocolate aroma. Anise, black licorice, dark chocolate, light coffee, roasty malty, light bodied flavor. Ok.

Brownish-black pour with a medium frothy tan head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, coffee and a bit of dark fruit. The finish is roasty with a short coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Dusty wood, chocolate malt, and bitter herb aroma. Very dark brown color with giant, explosive tan head. Sweet chocolate malt, wood, and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Very tasty.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks to Aaron for the pour! Pour is dark brownish black with thin to no tan head. Aroma has notes of sweet caramel, toffee, burnt sugars and molasses, hints of nutty notes and slight cocoa, touch of fruity notes in there. Taste is a mix of dish soap, some mineral and slight wet coffee ground note, big sweet caramel, toffee, and sugar notes, finishes very sweet. Smell was ok, taste wasn’t so good.

Sampled from a growler at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured a dark brown with a brown head. Aroma was full of roasted malts and an undertone of chocolate and alcohol. Flavor was similar with the chocolate being a bit more present, but roasted malts still being the main note.

On tap at Three Floyds. My wife got this one in an imperial pint glass. Deep brown pour with a finger of beige cap on top that leaves a steady sheet of lace in the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and a bit of earth. Flavor had even more vanilla sweetness and lots of chocolate, and not much else; a little bit of balancing earth. Surprisingly sweet. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, sweet mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Didn’t strike me as a Baltic porter but a good beer nonetheless.
