Sampled at an esbls tasting. Cool thick layer of small bubbles. Mid brown. Smooth. Chocolaty with complex fruit and softer hops. Alcohol is only lightly tasted. This is chewy and tasty.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma of gum, rye, banana and resin hops. Appearance is red/brown with bone head. Flavor matched the nose, but with a little pepper. Palate was very creamy. I liked this one quite a bit.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bottle from sefus12, thanks Beau! Pours a cloudy, amber colored body with a finger-width, fizzy and frothy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a solid lacing. Aroma is pretty sweet with caramel and cherry dark fruits along with a light orange hop, a touch of doughy yeast, a nice clove spice that comes out more as this warms, and maybe a hint of rye. Flavor is sweet caramel with some bread and a hint of grainy rye up front. Lots of cherry dark fruits, some doughy yeast, clove, rye spice, a touch of honey sweetness, and a nice orange, herbal hopping that helps this dry pretty well with a light bitterness that’s assisted by a touch of rye spice. Lengthy aftertaste following a bit of a syrupy, medium, round body with a moderately lively carbonation. Overall, a decent Belgian strong. Pretty sweet, but the flavor offers a nice balance with the light herbal hopping and rye spice. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 ounce bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy reddish/amber color with about an inch tan head. The head retention is good, and there’s a decent amount of lacing left on the glass. The brew smells like honey, caramel malt, oranges, candy sugar, and some sweet spices. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s the addition of some rye and an earthy/musty flavor. There’s also a lingering bittersweet finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick and has very high but soft carbonation. I think it’s a decent brew, and it’s worth a try if you’ve never had it before. I’d like to try this on tap in the future.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Deep amber body. Off-white head, fizzy, diminishing. Aroma of honey, caramel, basement, toasted grain, orange. Slight hint of wet concrete. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, sticky texture, moderate carbonation. Notes of a quad in its sweetness and slight mustiness. Taste of honey, rye, fruits, citrus, grass. Unique.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
on draft...has dark amber color with light colored head...lots of things happening in this beer and not so sure one doesnt detract from the other. you get the sweet candy from the belgium style ale then you get that bit of hoppiness that comes in the middle and again the sweet belgian candy with a touch of honey mixed in...it is on the sweet side and possibly aging would make this a different flavor i am not sure. but it was decent enough to drink...
