Alpine might be small, but their brewing chops are mighty. We teamed up to create this triple dry-hopped imperial IPA bursting with Columbus, Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe hops. Consider yourself a hero for getting an Alpine beer outside of San Diego.

Bottle. Clear amber orange thin white head. Aroma of some biscuit yeast and all kinds of hops: pine, grass, orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit. Tastes of pure fruit forward and slightly bitter hops, caramel, and hint of yeast. Mouthfeel is mid thin with medium carbonation. Overall a very solid mix between a west coast and midwest style DIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The pour is a clear, deep golden color with a moderately full, white, fluffy head head which is somewhat diminishing and leaves drippy lace. The nose is full of raw hops, dank, resinous pine, herbal, some grapefruit. The flavor is similar with white pepper, resinous pine, raw hops all over, some grapefruit, herbal, and faint pineapple. The palate is moderate to full, nearly lively, drying, and velvety. The finish is bitter and full of the same green hop notes. I do not understand the overly hopped beers which have so many notes of pure hop flowers or straight lupulin; you might as well just throw whole hop cones in your beer. I saw more than one review that listed onion as a descriptor and I kind of get that from the raw hop notes. Not that that I am surprised with this one from NB but the hop bill had me intrigued and the beer left me very disappointed.

The orange-amber colored body had some mild chill haze. The head was one finger thick, and carbonation mild, but steady. The aroma was not aggressive enough for the style. The hops used smelled citric, grassy, and mellow. The taste was very citric as well and was backed by an expressive malt backing reminiscent of honeydew melon and cotton candy. The finish was bittersweet and extended. The body felt soft and sticky. This was definitely a beer to chill with at the end of the day, rather than one to dazzle.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with an off-white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of of dank pine with grapefrut and not much of a grain backbone. Flavor begins with grapefruit and bitter citrus that is joined by pine and onion.

Bottle. I donít know what it is, maybe I just donít like Alpine. I have found many of their IPAís to be overly resinous and lacking the clean hop flavors i love. This one was no different and even had a very strong onion and garlic character that was almost unbearable. Sadly, I was only able to finish about 20% of this $9.99 22oz bomber. Super resinous, quite sweet, lots of vegetal character (particularly the onion family), leafy, spoiled tropical fruits. Wow, what a mess.

Serious pine needle, white pepper and resin notes on the first sip. Finishes with malts, orange peel and sweet fruit on the back Love Alpine IPAs and this is yummy, balanced stuff. UPDATED: AUG 12, 2012 Bottle at Home shared with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Big Thanks Man! Poured a golden orange with a frothy off-white and and great lacing. Smell is super dank! Weed, pine, resin, with hints of citrus and grapefruit in the aroma, really remarkable. Again very dank in the taste, grapefruit, light caramel, weed, spicy hops, and big resin, with a medium bitter finish. Sticky mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Super hoppy IPA, yet well-balanced and easy to drink with dangerously hidden alcohol. Totally blown away by this one and could easily drink a case of it. Well-done.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, big thanks to Aaron! Clear orange with nice fluffy white head, aroma has notes of big weed and dank notes, pine and resinous notes, grapefruit peel, orange, lemon peel, lots of tropical fruit as well. Wow. Taste is big sweet orange, toffee, some white dank fruits, some slight pine, finishing with more hop notes, big citrus notes come through. I could drink a lot of this.

Bottle @ home. Hazy dark appearance with a cream colored head. One whiff and you realize this is a motherfucking Alpine beer. OMGZ. Super fucking rich, grapefruit, big resiny, marijuana, thick resiny, spicy hoppy, perfect aroma. 10 all you motherfuckers. Perfecto. Somewhat chewy, a bit toasty malty, a touch yeasty, big grapefruity, marijuana, resiny/piney hoppy flavor. One whiff or one taste and you know this is an Alpine beer and itís just beautiful. Not sure what the New Belgium contribution is but this just smells and tastes like an amazing, aromatic, beautiful Alpine Double IPA. Best collaboration thus far by New Belgium. Delicious tasty stuff. Thank you, Alpine for making your deliciousness local to Colorado.
