Alpine might be small, but their brewing chops are mighty. We teamed up to create this triple dry-hopped imperial IPA bursting with Columbus, Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe hops. Consider yourself a hero for getting an Alpine beer outside of San Diego.

Bottle @ home. Hazy dark appearance with a cream colored head. One whiff and you realize this is a motherfucking Alpine beer. OMGZ. Super fucking rich, grapefruit, big resiny, marijuana, thick resiny, spicy hoppy, perfect aroma. 10 all you motherfuckers. Perfecto. Somewhat chewy, a bit toasty malty, a touch yeasty, big grapefruity, marijuana, resiny/piney hoppy flavor. One whiff or one taste and you know this is an Alpine beer and itís just beautiful. Not sure what the New Belgium contribution is but this just smells and tastes like an amazing, aromatic, beautiful Alpine Double IPA. Best collaboration thus far by New Belgium. Delicious tasty stuff. Thank you, Alpine for making your deliciousness local to Colorado.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of herbal and spicy hops with some resin and faint pale malts. The taste is intensly hoppy... as I was hoping... with spicy, peppery, herbal, citrus and resin notes. Some caramel malts also. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, very low heat. Nice beer.

651mL from Stateline Liquors. Pours chill hazed orange with a large, creamy, rocky, off-white foam. Thick and dense. Good retention. Nose is very fruity hoppy, cantaloupe, pineapple, moving to some dust and cheese that it will no doubt devolve into in a few weeks. Taste is sweet, sticky, spicy, rich, thicker mango pulp. Nice one. Some sweet, white alcohol. Palate is bitter, fruity, dense.

This beer pours a clear pale orange color with a medium thick white head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma consists of citrus and toasted malt. Medium to full body with flavors of hops, zesty citrus and malt undertones. Finishes moderately bitter with a grapefruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pale straw colour. The aroma is awesome. Really bright lemon and citrus character. Load of pine and tropical flavour with a fresh resinous finish. Smooth clean bitterness and a bright citrus and tropical fruit flavour. Awesome, awesome stuff. The beer of the trip so far. Juicy and delicious.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2012 bottle. clear orange with a fine white head and little retention. powerful orange and peach gelatin and pine resin nose with circulating notes of cedar shavings and rye seed. medium-low carbonation; medium-high sweetness; medium-high bitterness; medium acid; chewy and syrupy texture as expected of the style but the low carbonation is soft enough to keep things in place, texture-wise. pine shavings and resin dominate the hop flavor while toasted orange peel and tart peach linger underneath. about what youíd expect: big, bold, powerful and simple. not really my thing these days, but I can appreciate the effort.

650ml bottle. IT pours a clear apple cider gold with a fizzy white head that leaves dots of lacing but isnít particularly pretty. The smell is tropical, a hint of heirloom tomato. Noticeable grain. The flavor has some sugar cookie elements along with a tangy hoppiness. Tropical, low bitterness. Super super sweet. Boozy. Not a huge fan.
