COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re about to light up Florida with this Cigar City collaborative brew. Our Belgian yeast tangos with Anaheim and Marash peppers along with loads of citrusy hops to create an ale full of spice. Aged on Spanish cedar to salute our mutual love for wood!

650ml brown bottle. Golden, a bit hazy. Frothy and sticky white cap. Nose has citrus, bread, pepper and a little fruitiness. Taste has bread, caramel, orange, yeast, wood, earth. Aftertaste has spice, orange peel, some bitterness. Not much heat. ABV stays well hidden. Interesting beer, not what I expected.

Visual: Pours clear copper-orange with a smallish head, thin sticky lacing, a thin layer of retention, several slow streams. Nose: caramel malts, mild but apparent orange citrus (lvl-4)-pungency Attack: light oily, crisp mouthfeel, bitter hops Mid-palate: immediate pepper vegginess, light tingly, (lvl-6)-sweetness, (MAIN) caramel malts, orange Finish: light spicy heat, soft citrus bitter hops, woody malty sweet finish. Summary: Great full-bodied flavour, complexity and mouthfeel. I particularly dig the balanced citrus and heat elements.

On draught at 2014 fire and brimstone - pours clear copper, small head. Nose of chiles, malt. Taste is of chiles and sweet syrup, malt. More sweet than spicy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught during the 4th Annual Fire & Brimstone Festival at Saraveza. Fizzy golden with fluffy white head. Aroma is light yeast, plum, and cedar. Taste is toffee, plum, light yeast, cedar, and a touch of chili. Chili flavor mostly comes through in a touch of heat on the finish.

On tap at revo. SmellZ of apricots oranges, sweet lime, pretty sure I can smell the peppers - no smoke but a peppery smell, lightly toasted non whole wheat crust. Buds: really good combo of hops and the peppers for a good hop heat bite. No confusion - this is not a "heat" pepper beer thankfully. Kinda creamy here and there, peachy base, mish mash that I can’t quite analyze. Pretty good. I think more is in order.

Amber with a moderate foam. Interesting edge to a quiet scent. Flavour starts with some spice which grows through to the back. Spice, wood, a hint of smoke and some citrus. Pleasant spiciness.

glennmastrange (2226) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUL 18, 2014
Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt aromas of bread, grain and roasted, moderate perfume and faint lemon for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with a note of red pepper. Head is average size, frothy/creamy, off-white with good lacing and is fully lasting. Color is hazy, medium amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately to heavilynbitter. Palate is light to medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and a moderately alcoholic finish. A nice, bold Pepper Beer with just a hint of pepper, but not much heat.

It pours golden with a fluffy white head. The head is an off white in color. It has the smell of yeast and a bit of citrus. The aroma is not that powerful, but is pleasant. There is lacing present. The tastes is of hops at first, then a bit of citrus with a definitive taste of peppers afterwards.

Pour is hazed golden amber with lots of white head. Nose has a bit of stale grain, some sweet candied sugar, lemon, passion fruit, and a hint of peppery spice. Taste is pretty much the same, a bit sweet of candied sugar, some fruitiness and a hint more peppery spice. Medium body, a touch syrupy and heavy in back, moderate carbonation.

650ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus with hints of caramel and chilies. Taste is a light citrus hop bitterness with a caramel malty sweetness with a slight warming from the chilies finishing with the cedar. Light to medium bodied with mild carbonation. Not quite what I expected from 2 highly reputable breweries. I was expecting much more than I received and was left disappointed.
