We’re about to light up Florida with this Cigar City collaborative brew. Our Belgian yeast tangos with Anaheim and Marash peppers along with loads of citrusy hops to create an ale full of spice. Aged on Spanish cedar to salute our mutual love for wood!

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Golden color, just hazy, with small compact head. Mild aroma, dusty malts, lightly fruity (6.5). It has some light caramel flavor, very light residual sweetness, not really a spicy kick, while the chilies provide a rather unpleasant vegetable, soil touch (5.5); medium-to-strong bitterness, with a light unpleasant vegetable bitterness.
Nothing special.

Draft. Cloudy light amber color, white head. Aroma of mixed tropical fruit. Taste is all about the cedar, which dominates all else. Interesting.

Golden-amber, frothy head. Aroma has some light pale malts, and a slightly fresh character of chile. The taste is a bit old/vegetal, with a lot of doughy malts and the faintest bit of chile.

On tap @ Uncle Henry’s Deli. Clear orange pour with a white head. Aromas of green pepper skin, earth, soap, and spicy cedar aromas. Gross. Sweet banana taffy and bubblegum. Flavor is a mess as well. Spicy from the chile peppers and cedar. Banana candies, bubblegum, and lots of pepper skin. Slight earth/dirt character and grass.

Draft, Snallygaster. Aroma is medium sweet, kiwi, grapefruit/orange, some wood, bread. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, cedar, some grapefruit rind. Medium body, some resin, light acidity. Tasty beer, but didn’t really pick up on the chilies.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours orange gold with a creamy white head. Aroma suggests El Pollo Loco chicken! Med body. Flavor is citrus and mild chili with a little malt. Not kidding about El Pollo Loco. Their flame grilled chicken gets a nice crust. This is the weirdest experience. But it’s a good one. Ale is finishing sort of astringently woody/citrusy with a touch of chili - heading for the dry side.

Bottle. Poured clear orange copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy yeast and cedar wood aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate spice bittersweet flavor with a medium spice bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This beer met my expectations.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity malt with kiwi, Lichee, agave, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with lingering bitter notes, chili, grassy hops, nice but not too hot. #OttBottShare.

Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of straw, cedar, chilies and a hint of fruitiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of straw, cedar, chilies and light fruitiness with a crisp lingering cedar finish.
