COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oh my God. It’s not only a reaction for drinking one of Dieu De Ciel’s beers, but a figurative translation of the Montreal brewery’s name. Just ask our brewmaster, he’s in heaven when drinking this collaborative tripel, inspired by Dieu De Ciel’s love of hibiscus and Belgians love of the obscure, hence our addition of tart feijoa fruit. Cheers!

On tap. Lightly hazy golden with a small covering of creamy bubbles. Nose is mildly earthy grape must, pollen, and lemon zest. Taste is the same combination. Light-medium bodied with medium-high carbonation and to the dry side.

22 ounce bottle into signature globe glass, bottled on 1/29/2013. Pours fairly crystal clear golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of pear, tart apple, strawberry, lemon zest, grape, pepper, clove, flower petals, light bubblegum, light honey, pale candi sugar, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and yeast esters with the flower and fruit additions. Taste of tart apple, pear, strawberry, grape, lemon zest, pepper, clove, flower petals, honey, candi sugar, bubblegum, and earthy yeast spiciness. Fair amount of fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, strawberry, pepper, clove, floral, honey, candi sugar, bubblegum, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and complexity of malt and ester flavors; with moderate floral/fruity presence and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately slick and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice and unique Tripel style. Good balance and complexity of flavors; and quite smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle @ home. Pours clear dark orange with a small, bubbly white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is tart fruit with biscuit malt and spicy hops. Flavor is sweet malt, wine and grape tartness, flowers, faint hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Medium body and light carbonation.

22oz bottle, thanks to tmoney99 for sharing. Clear yellow orange color. Thin white head. Dots of lace. Lightly citrusy, kind of limey aroma. Light banana. More acidic than I’m used to from tripels. Medium to bigger body, but it doesn’t feel very full. Lighter carbonation. More dry in the finish. Interesting, different tripel, but it seems a little flawed.

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate complex tropical citrus and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy citrus sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good beer.

Bottle. Nice attractive pour ... silently still, amber, quality head of sticky white foam. The aroma is certainly continental ... hinting at a Belgian golden avenue. It drinks with a more aggressively sweetened angle than most ... with big time, syrupy fruitiness rolling right over the top. Sticky in the mouth too. Delicious. (#5016, 5/10/2013)

Bomber to snifter (thanks Tmoney99). Looks solid; a completely transparent burnt-orange with off-white lacing. Smells of dough and Belgian yeast with notes of what I can only assume to be feijoa and a sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a subpar citrus zest mouthfeel. Not my thing.

Bottle courtesy of Dark Guardian. Hop and spice aromas. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Spice and almost citrusy hop notes with a hint of orange zest. Decent mouthfeel and body.
