Getting Notebook Online. Bottle. Pours a thin black. Very yeasty on the nose and tongue. Some smoke and a bit of chocolate notes. Not my beer.

Pours into a dark chocolate beer with a tan head that dissipated very quickly. The aromas of coffee and roasted malts were prevalent. Initial flavors of coffee and ended with a bitter sweet chocolate taste. Not a bad beer.

Much better than my first NB beer (fat tire) but still nothing amazing. Dark clear brown pour with burgandy highlights and miniscule light tan head. Sweet caramel aroma, flavor is malty and biscuity. Aftertaste is a bit cloying.

Nice dark chocolate color with a smooth cream colored head and a rich nutty choclatey flavor. It has a strong after taste a little metallic but mostly bitter.

pours very dark brown almost black, but able to see through, with a head that disappears very quickly.. The aroma is malty and some chocolate. The flavor is sweet, with some bitterness, it has a burnt flavor towards the back of the palate, and caramel up front folowed by chocolate. The body is a medium body.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 bigguns22 (400) - Maryland, USA - SEP 24, 2011
Rich, dark brown, almost black color with a large tan head with a lot of tight bubbles. The aroma is of roasted malt and chocolate with a touch of caramel and bitterness. Though the smell is a little faint. The flavor, however, is nicely chocolately with mild malt that is just a touch subdued. A very nice tasting beer that I would definitely drink on a regular basis. Its a flat beer out of a bottle almost as if this was draft.

Has an earthy aroma, like moist dirt. Distinctive yeast smell along with cola, roasted malts, molasses, and a smoky chocolate undertone.
Plenty of dark burnt malts gives a toasty flavor. Earthy yeast is present, some nuttiness in there as well. There is a sour milk note in the mid. Sweeter chocolate and carmel in the finish.
Palate is very creamy, finshes with a sticky texture.

This is an interesting beer and seems like a very light porter. Deep chestnut hue with a sandy foam. Aroma of coffee and caramel with a flavor to match, very sweet. Chocolaty. Not bad at all
