drywall_man (188), Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA Feb 13, 2008 This one came out mildly orange and had a long lasting off-white head. The hops were predominant, with the Sterling most notable. A biscuit like malt eventually came through. It didn’t show it’s slightly higher alcohol content at all. Very smooth.
blankboy (2562), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 12, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Kevin. Pours a clear copper-orange with an average size somewhat-lasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel malt, light herbal hops, spices and something else I have a hard time placing, it’s a biscuity something, best I can do. Flavour of toasted caramel malt, fruit, spices and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good, I couldn’t really figure out what style it was trying to be but either way, I liked it. spikester (388), Salem, Oregon, USA Jun 30, 2008 Hazy amber with cream color one inch head. Lots of lacing. Big floral and earthy aroma. Taste is rich hops and plenty of sweet roasted malts. Hop flavors are very nice in this brew. The 6.6% abv is not obvious. Easy drinker and quite pleasant beer. thooper41 (207), USA Jun 12, 2008 12oz bottle: pours dark amber with 2 finger white head, aroma slightly hoppy, flavor decent amount of hops spices and malt decently balanced. hop_lover (110), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Jun 10, 2008 I love this hoppy winter belgian style ale. The palate is hoppy, warm with an alcohol kick and a little malty. The warm afterglow is the center piece. Great for drinking in front of the fireplace, in the rockingchair. D_malone102 (67), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 7, 2008 This is a refreshing change of pace for most winter brews out there. The Malt flavor is awesome, it’s clean but has plenty of flavor. Good balance of toastiness and sweetness. Just enough hops for me, perhaps a little low for the style, but I think that’s what the beer is going for.
