Bottle. Pours a wonderful shade of dark amber with a thick tan head that was full of carbonation and stuck around for most of the beer, leaving heavy lacing in the glass. Taste was filled with toasted malt, caramel, spices, and hops. It started off sweet and malty and quickly faded in the crisp, tart, and clean flavor of hops. Another enjoyable beer from New Belgium that I would recommend to people.

Jul 12, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Kevin. Pours a clear copper-orange with an average size somewhat-lasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel malt, light herbal hops, spices and something else I have a hard time placing, it’s a biscuity something, best I can do. Flavour of toasted caramel malt, fruit, spices and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good, I couldn’t really figure out what style it was trying to be but either way, I liked it.

Jun 30, 2008 Hazy amber with cream color one inch head. Lots of lacing. Big floral and earthy aroma. Taste is rich hops and plenty of sweet roasted malts. Hop flavors are very nice in this brew. The 6.6% abv is not obvious. Easy drinker and quite pleasant beer.

Jun 10, 2008 I love this hoppy winter belgian style ale. The palate is hoppy, warm with an alcohol kick and a little malty. The warm afterglow is the center piece. Great for drinking in front of the fireplace, in the rockingchair.

Jun 7, 2008 This is a refreshing change of pace for most winter brews out there. The Malt flavor is awesome, it’s clean but has plenty of flavor. Good balance of toastiness and sweetness. Just enough hops for me, perhaps a little low for the style, but I think that’s what the beer is going for.
