3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a crystal clear dark golden color with a moderate white head on it. Nose actually has some grains in there and just a hint of pepper, but not much else for me. Taste is quite malty to me, slightly toasty and somewhat earthy. Almost just a bit of toffee, too. Not a bad drink.

Well balanced ESB. Toasty malts with a decent amount of floral, citrusy hops. Brown appearance.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. This is an ok brew but I don’t get the ESB feel from it. Good all the same.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is one of my favorite winter brews. On draft, it is spicy, and peppery, with a nice combination of sweet and hop at the end. I would drink this year round and anxiously await its winter arrival.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light straw appearance with minimal head. Light beer with little bitterness. Taste like lemon with grapefruit.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
A - A solid 2 finger off-white head rests on top of a brilliant amber hued body. Thick vertical strips of lacing.
S - Huge cracker based malt, sesame seeds, pine nuts, toasted white bread, almonds, and berry fruit.
T - Excellent cracker malt, with notes of toffee, Granny smith apple peels, butterscotch, and caramel. A slight tang of citrus plays with carbonation to add a zesty bite. Citrus blends with hints of pine to add a freshness. Some nuttiness pokes it’s head in. Finishes with a sweet caramel sweetness but has a spicy back to balance everything out.
M - Medium body, perfect carbonation for the style.
The malt is super complex with variations of breads, cracker, and simple caramel to make this beer a standout. The hops play their role but don’t get in the way of the excellent malts. This is a must try if you like ESB’s!...or any beer. I can’t say enough about the malt profile.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Great appearance and excellent name. I’m starting to think that rate beer should get rid of one of the useless categories.. Aroma? And replace it with name. Spicy smell. Typical mellow new belgian taste. How do they do it? I like this. Not too random. Pretty delicious.

Dark mahogony.frothy off white contrasting head.Lacing froth. Very clear beautiful mahogony.
Very hoppy nose clean fresh strong pungent herbal maybe some onion/garlic funk.
Taste is very full bodied smooth creamy with chocolate, mild coffee roast, hoppy herbal but pungent and alot of what I like in hop aroma/flavor. I havent really enjoyed a beer this well in a while,it just has something about it,like alot of their beers that taste great, I really like this one. They did something right here. Very ,very tastey. Wow.Leaves a crapload of thick lacing.Awesome, way to go! Not what I was expecting alough alot of New Belgium beers are fantastic. I love Ranger some people hate it,every time I get it its pure fresh bliss. So, as is..

Cigar box, mild smoke. Not too bitter. Coke-brown color. Enjoyable but would probably pass up for either a hoppy amber or a smokey stout.
