Nice malt and hint of bread make this brew a favorite. Perfect for chilly days. Just enough hop action to keep me interested. I liked that this brew wasnt watery thin also. A must have for me every cool season.

The beer pours a solid copper color with a finger of white head that falls to a full coat over top. The clarity on this is fantastic and there are large bubbles forming at the bottom of my glass and cascading up to the top. The aroma is very earthy, with a strong toasted German malt character along with some biscuit-like qualities. Overall, this one is not bad.

Small offwhite head with fair retention.Dark amber in color. Seriously faint nose of malt and maybe some spices. Light bodied, lifeless, nobody home. Little caramel maltyness, dry, boring. Quick, bland finish. Bottle shared by my good friend Rick.

A - pours deep amber/copper color with high off white head that lingers. Some lacing.
S - aromas of bready yeasts, subtle caramel malts, and some spices, nutmeg? and cloves. Quite notes of floral and spicy hops.
M - medium body with lightly creamy feel.
T - a well balanced ESB, nice subtle bready sweet malts on the nose, with subtle floral hops on the palate. Light citrus notes as well. Subtle caramel malts with hints of fruits as well plums?
O - overall a good offering from NB, better than most of their standards.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear amber with minimal head. Aroma of basement funk and light hops. Taste is light hops and a lot of skunk. Light bodied and light textured. Lively carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not that good. Glad the snow day replaced this because this is probably the worst seasonal New Bel has had.

12 ounce bottle. Copperish brown color with a medium/light head. Malty with some spices. Well done because it isnt over spiced.
