YES, I look forward to winter to 1. Ski and 2. Drink this beer. Brilliant hoppy ESB with a nice fruity (subtle) taste.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear amber with minimal head. Aroma of basement funk and light hops. Taste is light hops and a lot of skunk. Light bodied and light textured. Lively carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not that good. Glad the snow day replaced this because this is probably the worst seasonal New Bel has had.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hbmason (1087) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - NOV 8, 2011
12 ounce bottle. Copperish brown color with a medium/light head. Malty with some spices. Well done because it isnt over spiced.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 13, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2012 Tasted from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Pours a beautiful copper color with aromatic, fluffy tan foam, somewhat lasting, some nice lace. Some subtle holiday ale smells here: baking bread, roasting nuts, citrus zest, nutmeg, clove, flowery and spicy late hops. Complex malt-sweetness with measured hops bitterness. Flavors of bread, toast, biscuits, caramel, minimal roasted barley. New Belgium’s characteristic ale yeast kicks up some apricot, plum, and other vaguely fruity phenols. Light-medium body, well-rounded mouthfeel and smooth, refreshing finish. The high alcohol by volume percentage is completely hidden. A truly delicious seasonal offering, one of my favorite things about winter.

a decent Bitter, nose and taste is of spice, floral hops, and a touch of light malts.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bsp77 (724) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 6, 2011
Appearance: Clear light copper with a large off-white head and some nice lacing.
Aroma: Biscuit, caramel, heather-like herbs, citrus and metal.
Taste: Sweet caramel, biscuit and slight citrus upfront before turning more bitter with a strong herbal and metallic finish, which leaves a slightly unpleasant aftertaste.
Palate: Moderate carbonation, medium body, slightly creamy but a strange finish.
Overall: Interesting hybrid type beer. I am going to steal the "German ESB" term from someone else, as it seems to have Marzen qualities to it. It also really seems as if they add Heather to it. Good, not great, beer overall. If it wasn’t for the aftertaste, it would have been better.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 WabashMan (967) - Noblesville, Indiana, USA - AUG 4, 2011
Not a bad beer, by any measure, but lacking the depth of flavor to really stand apart. This one pours a medium, red tinged amber. Nose is malty with a bit of alcohol. Flavors are nice --- caramel and malt, mostly --- but could use a bit more complexity and hop character. Overall, however, this might make for a nice winter warmer.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 benpickens (361) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 2, 2011
Crystal clear bronze with light porous head that doesnt hold well; unusual and distinct aroma; hard to describe... distinct flavor as well and again, hard to articulate. Good but strange enough that I think I would gorw tired of it if drunk regularly.
