Clear dark brown body under a an off-white scattering of bubbles. Raisin, phosphory rubber, and brown sugar in the nose. Not as much sweetness in the flavor - toasty caramel and raisin under nicely bitter lemon peel and grass. I like this Americanized (bitter) dubbel. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 5, 2002 A medium strong and very pleasant sweet bubblegum, curacao, aroma. Very clean though slightly creamy. Yes, there is some coffee and fig and both are bright and appreciated. The body is medium and may feel a bit wet by comparison to the heaviest of this breed. The finish is fairly dry with some fruit sour and not fully dampened hops. A very good show! I’m all about the front end with the better part of the experience coming before or during the first sip. This beer has all that. Dank u wel, Mister Gusler! BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
