A nice seasonal release from New Belgium. With the flood of porters and barrel aged beers floating around this time of year, it’s nice to see someone attempting a different style for the season. While nothing remarkable, I have enjoyed plenty of this beer sitting by the fireplace watching a movie or a game. At $12 for a 12 pack, you can’t go wrong for a tasty winter beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a lemonade yellow. Thick, frothy head that leaves great lacing. Big citrusy aroma of a good IPA, and grassy wheaty malt backbone that balances out the hops. I like this offering from New Belgium.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
BBD 06APR14. Pours a clear golden yellow with a very nice head and lacing that lasts. Mild nose of citrus hops, grapefruit and lemon, over a very slight sweetness. Light medium body, on the thin side, that has slightly above normal carbonation. The taste is well balanced between moderate hop flavor and bitterness. Grapefruit is the dominate hop flavor. Crisp finish followed by a pleasant lingering grapefruit bitterness. A very good beer for non-hopheads.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought bubblegum, white fruit, hints of peach into some slight wheat, grass, touch of earth, slight pine, orange in there, hints of biscuit. Taste is a mix of biscuit, bread, touch of orange, peach, slight spice into bubblegum, touch of grain, finishing sweet.

Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow, just like a wit bier. Aromas of clove and citrus. Some hop bitterness, but it doesn’t seem well-balanced.
