3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Arrives from the tap with a forthy, on-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a clear gold color. The aroma smells of grapefruit zest, Meyer lemon, citrus blossoms, and other floral notes that lean towards adding tropical fruit notes; the beer comes off as quite dry smelling, which seems to surpress the brighter fruit notes that it might otherwise have. Dried hay like malt character adds to the herbal and grassy side of the hop character, with a bit of lemon thyme perhaps.
The flavor is fairly dry up front, but has soft malt sweetness, which, when combined with the hop character provides a honey like touch here. Hop flavors of lychee, tangelo zest, sweet Meyer lemon, peppery lemon herbs, a bit of woody pine, and some lingering notes in the finish that make me think of candied citrus zest. There is a lingering bitterness here as well, perhaps a touch of hop astringency, and a definite bite to the finish that is also contributed by the prickly carbonation. The beer is fairly light bodied, with some viscosity and palate presence; this is definitely quaffable like it needs to be, but has some chewiness to keep ti texturally interesting.
This is a nice IPA, definitely in the west coast style rather than a White IPA though, the wheat has no noticeable contribution, and there are not any additional spices or Belgian yeast notes noticeable (thankfully).

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Color is bright and vibrant. Citrusy hop notes and spicy overtones plant it's feet firmly in IPA territory. Pair it with something rich or lots of umami.

3.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
New Belgium Accumulation is a pretty solid IPA. Light citrusy aroma coming from a an amber pour and a thick foamy head. Citrus and floral hops come through in the taste but it goes away a little too quickly. A mellow bitterness follows. Although nothing special as IPAs go, Accumulation is very drinkable and goes well with food.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Keystone in Clifton, served in a brand new New Belgium goblet. Pours a pale yellow-gold, a little cloudy, with a medium foamy white head that leaves heavy lace in the glass. Notes of lemon citrus, pale and crackery malts, grass, herbs, and the faintest hint of peppery spice. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Very light and clean. White IPA- that makes sense. I thought this would be a more wintery spiced kind of IPA, not that I was disappointed with the result. Good beer.
