COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Accumulation White IPA was inspired by the white beauty that falls each winter from our Colorado sky. Flurries of Mosaic and Amarillo hops bring soft fruit and citrus flavor, followed by a layer of bitter. Piled high in IBUs, Accumulation will make your winter brighter.

Bottle. Yellow gold, lasting white head. Grapefruit and light pine, austere wheaty malts, crisp bitter finish. A nice lean IPA.

Bottle. Mostly clear and bright rich yellow pour with a small spotty white head. Delicate and pleasant citrus and floral nose. Taste is mild floral and citrus, but finishes a little dry and rough. This is just okay - not too bad, not great either.

12oz bottle pours with a clear thin gold body that supports a white head of foam. Just after pouring it the aroma had a peach fruitiness to it. Upon further inspection there’s malt sweetness, slight levels of fruity notes maybe apricot, peach and mango as well as some faint hoppier or tarter citrus like notes. The taste is similar with modest levels of dry apricot and peach fruitiness rolling quickly into some malt sweetness. To midway a bit of malts and a slightly wheat like grainy malt note surface just as it heads into a lemon to lime like bitter hop to tartness. Pretty nice and balanced and easy drinking with plenty of flavor.

Bottle. Golden-straw beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and perfume aroma with light wheat. Light tropical fruit and grapefruit flavor with light wheat. Medium bodied. OK bitterness. Light tropical fruit and grapefruit lingers with light floral notes and light wheat.

Draft at Keystone in Clifton, served in a brand new New Belgium goblet. Pours a pale yellow-gold, a little cloudy, with a medium foamy white head that leaves heavy lace in the glass. Notes of lemon citrus, pale and crackery malts, grass, herbs, and the faintest hint of peppery spice. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Very light and clean. White IPA- that makes sense. I thought this would be a more wintery spiced kind of IPA, not that I was disappointed with the result. Good beer.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a super clear yellow color with a medium white head. A nice citrus and wheat nose. Big rich sticky sweet hops, Amarillo shine, lots of pine and more grapefruit. Light bready grainy base. A big flavor punch in this one. Quite tasty. Mild to medium bitterness. Solid.

11/26/13. On tap at Barley’s, downtown Asheville. Hazy orange pour with a small off-white head. Mild aroma, plenty of hops, citrus and a little dank, hints of spice. Nice mild flavor, citrus combination from the IPA aspect and the witbier aspect, mild spice. Not bad.

"I really like white ipa as a style. I wasn’t sure about it as a winter style but it works. Mild coriander and orange and a surprisingly pungent hop aroma and aftertaste. Lots of victims and pine. Solid brew worthy of a new winter seasonal."

Ernest (6542) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 5, 2013
Bottle (BB Mar 2014). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (resin), with notes of Silly Putty / plastic, mold, concrete, toulene. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, very unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Seriously? What the hell. I am absolutely perplexed by NB’s direction anymore. Even if you ignore the fact that, once again, they’ve created a "winter" seasonal that has none of the qualities one would expect from winter beers (sweet, rich, possibly spiced, boozy/warming, etc.), they have created a so-called White IPA with virtually zero aromatic elements of EITHER style. Almost no hops in the nose, and I couldn’t find any witbier spices. Now maybe "White" IPA means something totally different to the Salazars (the picture of snow on the label?), but even the IPA aromatics are all but missing. Worse, though, instead of smelling like nothing, the odors it *does* have smell like a mess of chemicals...imagine walking through a glue factory. And the dirty aftertaste confirms that my nose is correct...it actually made me wince from the resemblance to drinking solvents or modeling glue. I’m beyond perplexed, honestly...what am I supposed to do with this? How can anyone, especially NB, make something this terrible and apparently not even realize it? And nope, it ain’t the glass, ’cause I used the same one (with a good rinse in between, of course) that I used for the Wasatch white IPA review. Truly amazing.
