COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Accumulation White IPA was inspired by the white beauty that falls each winter from our Colorado sky. Flurries of Mosaic and Amarillo hops bring soft fruit and citrus flavor, followed by a layer of bitter. Piled high in IBUs, Accumulation will make your winter brighter.

Slightly hazy straw gold pour with a 1 finger, fluffy white head that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is toast, citrus, a little tart stone fruit and the signature New Belgium weird grainy malt notes that I can never quite identify. Flavor is sweet malt and toast up front, grass, sweet grapefruit, acidic hop bite and New Belgium toasty grainy notes. Light body with a dry feel throughout, has a medium, blanketing and sharp carbonation and somewhat astringent finish with that snappy, sharp acidic hoppy bite that is pretty intriguing. Good overall, but not much going on.

I found this straight forward and boring despite using Mosaic and Amarillo. The pour is a orange hued copper with a thick off white head. The nose is citrus noted with ligth caramel and wheat malts. The hops are subdued but have subtle notes of peach and grapefruit. The finish is lightly spicy with citrus notes and a moderate bitterness.

This is a really excellent beer. Check out my other ratings to see how many beers I give 4 stars- not many (Granted, with the caveat that I tend to only buy the less expensive tier of craft brews when I buy craft brews- this was on sale :) ). Itís a bit reminiscent of a discontinued year round beer by New Belgium called Belgo, which was also an IPA with wheat, and which Iíve missed ever since it got taken off the shelves. I guess I should have checked this out sooner. Still, the two beers are not identical- for one thing, the ABVs are different, but the taste also differs somewhat, albeit not enough that I didnít recognize some similarities. I wonder if this uses the same yeast strain. The hop varieties seem a bit unusual for an IPA, in a good way. This is the second beer I can remember that advertises mosaic hops, and though they were at the time I tried the first beer (A Saranac offering from a mix pack) a very inexpensive and relatively new variety of hop, they have an interesting flavor to them that I think gives you a lot of bang for your buck, and provides an interesting change of pace for even those who donít need to get good bang for their buck. Armarillo hops in here as well. The sweet hops are forward and then you get this really strong bitter bite toward the end of each sip- sort of like the sour patch kids of IPAs. Good stuff. :) I agree with the reviews that say this is a bit light on the malt side, it wouldnít shock me if there was a fairly small malt bill here consisting of a lot of pale malt with maybe only a small amount of something like caramel malt, and then the wheat, but who needs malt when youíve got all these tasty hops? I like that the hops seem to kind of come at you in waves. You drink it and get one distinct taste that flows into a second distinct taste rather than a single flavor that the hops have amalgamated into. Anyhow, Iím almost a little bummed that I only bought a 6 pack and stocked up on beer into January. Hopefully, this isnít sold out and replaced by a spring seasonal next time I hit the liquor store.

Nice nose, citrus light hops, god clean appearance. However, taste doesnít stand out from an ordinary ipa. Bitter aftertaste thatís a bit unpleasant. Overall, not bad but not anything special.

Pale straw, slight haze, white head. Aroma of light malts, citrus, tangerine, herbal and floral notes. Flavor: light, bready malt, firm citrusy bitterness, grapefruit and resiny notes.

Better than expected. Very mild winter ipa. Smooth to drink. Would be a good session beer

TH28 (146) - - DEC 12, 2014
Appearance is pale straw yellow with a hint of cloudiness and quickly disappearing head. Aroma is intense grass and tangerine. Taste is a light, cracker like malt that gives way to a sharp bitterness and flavors of orange, apple, and fresh cut grass. Mouthfeel is thin and light considering the wheat involved, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes very bitter because of the supremely light malt backbone. Not a well balanced example of the style

Light aroma on this with a light yellow color and slight cloudiness. Light start and not an overly hoppy finish ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer is golden with white cloudy hues. It is rather mild for an IPA. It has a characteristic hop favor but is a little more smokey. Drinks smooth and easy.

12 oz bottle pours light yellow with a sudsy white head. Grassy hops aroma mixed with citrus. Earthy and herbal hop presence as well as a nice peppery taste. Thin body. A tad dry and a tad chemical. I had this on tap as well and it is much better on tap. Good IPA.

From a bottle. Aroma is citrus with pine notes. Very light in body and extremely drinkable. Somewhat bitter, but the bottom line at 6.2% ABV it is an IPA you can drink a lot in one sitting and not feel too full.
