4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2012 Holy crap. This beer is amazing. On draft at toronado SD. I havenít had an ipa in this realm of awesome since rogerís last stand. The hop flavors come at you hard without any of that bitterness. Just the right amount of maltiness for this style Of beer. If I wanted something less malty I would have ordered a Nelson.
Anyways, this gets extra points for being possibly the easiest "alpine" beer to get a hold of. Drink it fresh obviously. If the hops fade this beer wonít be nearly as tasty
The hops have either dropped some, or that first keg I had last week was some miracle batch. While not one of the most mindblowingly good IPAs Iíve ever had anymore, it is still amazing. Iím a hophead obviously, so I probably went overboard when I first had it. Either way, awesome IPA, if we werenít so spoiled with Alpine already, Iíd be seeking this out by the case.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On Tap at the River Room, Whole Foods, Boise Slightly hazy golden orange with a thin fleeting of white head. Classic pungent hop bitter aroma. Hop forward flavors lots of citrus and pine flavors. The Simcoe really makes it I think. A little thick on the palate and a pleasant lingering bite. A hefty sipper .

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Roziís. $14 growler. Smell is very dank, has green flash written all over it from the begining. Nice golden color, solid off white head. Flavor is more dank hops, weed, grass, resin. There is a hint if new belgiums fruitiness. Some malt in there and some savory garlic-food thing. Nice, good and drinkable.

1.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
On tap at the magic tree, nice place for tasting rare beers on tap. OK, so whats the up with super? Does that mean better behaved or more like a rude? Go figger. next is ultra ipa. Looks like any other beer, pale yellow. Has typical low co2 feel on the tongue;. Mouth coating fresh oily feel, like liquid soap. BO on the aroma, such a contemporary ipa thang. Bittermedicine on the tongue what else can be said? Super or not this is terrible on ipa style. Green chewing on rinds grapefruit. Not as rude as most ipa but make no mistake, this is kick ass. Probably least appreciative beer today.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at PreFunk. Hop resin rules the day, overload of pine, dry sappy bitterness. Slightly hazy pour with small creamy white head. Hops on the nose and full force in the taste. Dry sweet finish. This is what IPAs are all about.

Glass: Pint glass
From: Alpine Beer Company Pub in Alpine, Calif.
Purchased: Nov. 28, 2014
Consumed: Nov. 28, 2014
Misc.: Collaboration with New Belgium
Poured a honey, golden, clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki, white, rocky head when I got it. Serene setting underneath the head. Semi-layered spotty, spiderweb lacing on the sides of the glass. Above average retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled skunky resin hops, Citra hops, floral hops, caramel, nectarine, nectarine rind, a tad earthy and pungent grapefruit. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted booziness right away. Also mango, orange juice, tropical hops, caramel, rubbing alcohol, sharp tangerine, vegetables and floral hops late. (Taste - 3.88)
Medium body. Creamy-to-oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter, somewhat astringent finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This beer had itsí moments, but not one of the top Alpine IPAís Iíve had. (I know it was a collaboration). Still decent though. (Overall - 3.88)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rated on 02-02-2013 (Bottle) This beer pours a small smooth white head that is mostly lasting, transparent golden body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is pine, earthy hops and caramel malt. The flavor is pine hops, bitter, alcohol and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. The ABV comes through in the flavor and this is a hop head beer.
