1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pilsner glass from bottle. A: slight yeast, slight breadyness. App: clear, golden color with a 2 finger head. T: very light in flavor, water in the front, with a very mild hop character in the back. P: medium to low, fat, unsatisfying bubbles and mostly smooth. Lighting aftertaste of mild hoppyness. Not even close to a good beer. Sad to say, even Saranac, a average beer producer, makes a much better pilsner!

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from can (folly 12 pack) into clean tasting glass.
Pours well, decent head with little retention, pale straw color appealing.
Smells clean with a little hoppy grass.
Taste is average, bland malt flavors fail to impress, some grassy flavors detract.
Very astringent finish, unpleasant.
Overall an American lager brewed to compete more with B/C/M than a real pils. Personally I expect more from this brewer.

Bottle pour. Pours golden with a grassy aroma. Not really a stand out pilsener here. Pretty bland, but tastes alright overall. Sweet malt flavor and finish, with some grassy flavor too. This one was alright. Decent summer time beer.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
second beer rating from the folly pack. pours straw yellow with a nice white head. aroma reminds me of the skinny dip. malt and citrus. flavor is bland. thin body. why are they not using more hops in these variety pack beers? thin body. PBR finish. not impressed. Why in the hell did I pay 17 bucks for this twelve pack. New Belgium, you need to get your shit together.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear yellow brew with white head. Aroma of sour hops. Taste is very light malt at the start and then a blend of mostly sour hops and some bitterish grass. Thin palate. Disappointing.

Decent pilsner has a little kick to it which is the best part but it’s not super enjoyable, overall average

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Yeasty aroma. Slight floral hop aroma but too little for me in a pilsner. Flavor is grainy malt flavor and noble hops. Medium light body. Nice crispness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mild hop notes and some grain in the aroma. Pours a clear light gold with a thin white head. Clean flavor, with a little malt sweetness fading to crisp hop bite. Light and easy drinking, this is a great beer to drink on a hot day.

I always get excited to try lagers from the larger craft breweries as they are the ones that seem to have the means to do it properly. This lager in particular is not a home run but definitely a solid brew for Pilsener fans to enjoy. It is a perfectly clear golden brew w/ a long lasting head of mixed bubbles. Its nose is of yeasted bread and a bit of grassy floral notes from the hops. This is a nice, dry beer w/ crisp but not overly vigorous carbonation. It gets a little sweeter as it warms which brings out a lemon note from the hops. It finishes w/ a nice firm, earthy bitterness. This isn’t a top notch pils but New Belgium gets the job done well enough in a hart to make style that I am mildly impressed.
