COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

Semi bitter lager with a thin lacey head, full body, pale yellow color. Nice blend but more like a pale lager to me.

It’s an innocuous beer that tapers off into a effervescent, soft saltiness and leaves a crisp and sweet finale. As far as lagers go, it’s pretty decent, but there’s no reason to necessarily knock over your grocery to find the stuff. Pretty standard nose to the style and an obligatory glowing yellow hue wraps up this guy.

At first I really did not like this beer but after a while it starts to grow on you. Small malt character with a medium-light mouth feel

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Hotel glass (half pint, half snifter) From: Wilbur’s Total Beverage in Fort Collins, Colo. Price: Part of a variety 6-pack for $9.99 Purchased: May 2, 2013 Consumed: May 2, 2013 Misc.: Best by Sept. 8, 2013 Poured a golden yellow color with one finger of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles underneath. Lots of foamy lacing on the sides. Very good retention on the tops on the way down. Smelled a weird mix of blueberry and shit to start. Not a good start. Some bread, hay, corn and cereal were involved, but the skunky poop malt kept hanging around. Tasted no poop, so that was good. Pretty plain though, with some light noble corn hops. Still grassy and grainy. Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt finish. Just wasn’t a fan of this beer. Would never try it again.

Bottle. Maybe it was because I just finished doing some yardwork, but I really liked this Lager. Poured a golden mainly clear yellow. Frothy white head that laced nicely. Aroma is a slightly sweet malt/fruit. Taste is a bready malt with a hint of hop bitterness. Mouthfell was surprisingly good for a sessionable beer. Great summer beverage!

Faint aroma of malt, caramel, bread. Plae yellow color...thin head. Crisp taste of sweet malt initially. Followed nicely by a balanced bitter finish. Solid.

Bottle poured into a tulip. Clear gold with a substantive pillow of white head that’s very persistent with lots of lacing. The description notes "more body than a traditional Belgian pils" and that’s definitely true and it’s not a good thing. This beer is very sweet, thick and bready and not crisp. Would go for an Urquell any day over this.

Hoppy, grassy, and a little kick off bitterness after the malty taste. Not bad. It’s quite refreshing. Cheers!

A - Pours a clear golden with a dense white head that retains well throughout the beer and leaves a couple patches of lacing. S - Grassy hops, floral hops, dry straw, hints of honey malt. T - A little sweet off the top, then grassy hops come in along with some lemon zest and notes of apple. Malt is slightly sweet but the finish is crisp and smooth. Aftertaste is grassy with notes of lemon. M - Prickly carbonation with light to medium body. This one surprised me. It was better than I expected. Everything was mild but everything blended together very well. Serving type: bottle 10-19-2010

Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz: Pours golden with white head. Aroma is a bit of grass and grain and a tad bit of that sugar. Taste is lightly sweet, with sustained hop bitterness. Nice mild lager aftertaste. Easy drinking and nice and sessionable.

Not bad but a little on the watery side. Missing a little bit of extra malt and body.
