Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

Hoppy, of course this is a pilsener. In most cases, I am not a pilsner fan, but this is nice. The hoppiness is balanced well with the malt sweetness. It was a slightly hazy golden color with light head and lace. Enjoyable, but not on my ’favorites’ list.

3/4" white head dropped quickly leaving behind nice lace rings... Crystal clear straw gold. Pale malts and grassy hops are the only aroma. Flavor is very clean pale malt and good bitter backbone with earthy hops mid palate that melt away quickly making me want another sip. Ideal body and carbonation.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp crackery malt and grassy hops. Flavour is crisp, with grassy hops, biscuity malt and bready notes. Clean and decently balanced. Solid.

Clean and refreshing. Good balance and a hop profile that fits well in this style of beer.

Light golden pour with white head. Light biscuit malt aroma. Clean, crisp malt flavor with little hop bitterness. Refreshing and easy drinking, but not a lot of flavor.

Tap at Antenna. Nice biscuit malt nose, noble hops. A bit sweet, biscuity, cream, with herbs a light bitterness. A good fresh pils. Not so exciting, but good enough.

A good pilsener, perhaps too hoppy and malty. Ideally more crisp and a touch of german hops. But this was still good and enjoyable. Good carbonation and somewhat light on the tongue.

Can at home. A light spritzy Pils, with cracker malt, straw, Saaz hops, fresh mown grass, and a dry grainy finish. Meh.

Rich golden malt, slight straw and hay, mild but notice Pilsner hops. Creamy yet fizzy head. A nice spring/summer beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft - Light orange and citrus notes. Clear gold with a rich white head. Light grains and citrus with a touch of peel. Nice beer, but a bit more citrus than in any Euro pils o have had.

A very basic beer. Pour a clear golden straw with a fizzy white head. The nose is grainy and straw with a pinch of floral and grass notes. Basic profile, light grains and cereal malts with a pinch of hops. Clean and crisp.
