COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

Bottle. Being that I like pilsners I often go for this beer, however, color is pale, aroma is faint and it has a bitter finish. Good summer beer.

It’s winter, so it’s only natural that I decided to drink, er, Blue Paddle Pilsener? Okay, so it’s a little counterintuitive, but I figured, "Ah hell, why not?" Happily New Belgium’s brew works in decidedly non-pilsener weather, too. Blue Paddle has a straw color body and clean head. Smells of bread and some lively hops. Taste is smooth and there’s just enough hop bitterness to keep it from being too sweet. Finish is clean and bright. Blue Paddle may not be particularly exciting, but it’s a no-nonsense thirst quencher... even in the winter.

Bleh. Sour, skunky hop in this one. Not much there to be proud of. Like a bad version of a pale ale, this one is.

12oz. bottle from BevMo. Clear yellow brew with white head. Aroma a little skunky, perhaps sour hops. Taste is very light malt at the start and then a blend of mostly sour hops with a bitter finish. Clean and crisp. Seems to be missing a moderating malt or bread-like fullness. Thin palate. Not memorable.

Decent pilsner. Light going down and more of a summer time beer. Decent but not one if their best

Slight grain based aroma, not strong smell at all, pure golden color that pours semi clear in the pint glass, not as clear as Miller Lite but definite clarity, zero head at the top of the pint glass with minimal carbonation/fizz, decent taste but leaves a lot to be desired, very forgettable beer, not bad just not something to write home about.

"i do seem to like the noble hops in my pils! that’s the strength of this beer, though i didn’t like it quite as much as sam adams noble. fairly clean and crisp but with a stronger hop presence than par for the style."

I had this at Global Brew. Pours yellow with a white head. Taste sweet, grassy, light. I thought this was good. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear, bright straw. Lots of carbonation with a foam head. Solid pilsner malt aroma. Nice pilsner taste, refreshing, bubbly and balanced. Slightly sticky mouthfeel bit a bit of hops bitter.

Clear golden, a medium white fizzy head with a little lacing. Aroma is grassy with a little lemon. Good crisp flavor.

12oz bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a thin head of spotty white and tiny bubbles. Aroma is a little on the skunky side - which maybe I just associate with czech hops, which remind me of budweiser. The flavors contain a bit of malt sweetness and the hops reappear in the finish. Crisp and clean. Easy to drink. I believe it is style-appropriate. Not bad.
