COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

Draft. Very clear golden color with a thin white head and some mild lacing. Aroma is a bit pungent, with hints of lemon, grass/hay, and yeast. Flavor is lacking, with a mild grainy sourness. Body is quite light, with carbonation more present that flavor. So so.

12oz bottle. Pours light gold with quickly dispersing white foam. Smells lightly sweet with hints of lemon and a tiny bit of bitter peanut butter. Tastes very mild hints of wheat and hay.

Clear golden yellow with a bright white one-finger head and very nice lace. Grainy hops aroma with hints of honey and earth. Toasted malt flavor characteristic, with a touch of light citrus and earthy hops. Light body, lively carbonation, thin mouthfeel, and a crisp finish.

12 oz bottle from the 2002 Revival Folly Pack. Pours a translucent golden color with a foamy white head. Some lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, and vanilla. Sweet malts, vanilla, caramel, followed by a nice crispness. Sweet with a bit of spice on the finish. Crisp and refreshing. Pretty easy to drink.

Pours straw yellow with a hint of orange, wwith a lot of stark white, super foamy, slowly dissipating head. Grass aroma. Sickly sweet taste with a hint of lemongrass, fakes into a slight bitter aftertaste. I’m not a huge fan of the style, but it’s just okay.

It’s an innocuous beer that tapers off into a effervescent, soft saltiness and leaves a crisp and sweet finale. As far as lagers go, it’s pretty decent, but there’s no reason to necessarily knock over your grocery to find the stuff. Pretty standard nose to the style and an obligatory glowing yellow hue wraps up this guy.

At first I really did not like this beer but after a while it starts to grow on you. Small malt character with a medium-light mouth feel

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Hotel glass (half pint, half snifter) From: Wilbur’s Total Beverage in Fort Collins, Colo. Price: Part of a variety 6-pack for $9.99 Purchased: May 2, 2013 Consumed: May 2, 2013 Misc.: Best by Sept. 8, 2013 Poured a golden yellow color with one finger of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles underneath. Lots of foamy lacing on the sides. Very good retention on the tops on the way down. Smelled a weird mix of blueberry and shit to start. Not a good start. Some bread, hay, corn and cereal were involved, but the skunky poop malt kept hanging around. Tasted no poop, so that was good. Pretty plain though, with some light noble corn hops. Still grassy and grainy. Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt finish. Just wasn’t a fan of this beer. Would never try it again.
