COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

Great-looking beer! Hazy-golden-yellow with a frothy and very white head... leaves intricate Brussel’s Lace patterns behind. Inviting aroma. Nearly perfect mouthfeel... not too smooth, not too rough. Richly malted and little bready, yet crisp, clean, and nicely effervescent. Wonderful, bitter aftertaste... finishes somewhat dry. Very enjoyable and easy-drinking.

Everything a pilsner should be--clean, bitter, flavorful I tried it when out West, in Nevada and Calfornia, and was disappointed to see that it is not shipped out of the region.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2006 Fort Collins has lots of good pilseners but this is the finest. New Belgium can always be trusted.

A light aroma, but more than expected from a lager. Pale straw in color. Crisp and fruity in flavor.

Very fresh tasting, the equal of many European pilseners. Beautiful color and carbonation. Rated as a pilsener beer.

12 oz. bottle. Drank on 6/11/06. Nice clear yellow, a hint of orange. Nice big creamy 1" head. Nice thick layer of foam sticks around. Big lacing. Aroma - little bit of sweet malts and a little bit of noble hop spiciness like a good pilsner. Flavor - little bit of bitterness, but nicely balanced. Good pilsner flavor. Little bit of sweetness in the finish. Little noble hop character. Palate - just a tad more body than light - perfect for this beer. Perfect, slightly low carbonation. Overall - a really nice pilsner. Very easily drinkable. Nice aroma, flavor, and balance. Great summer lawnmower beer, no complaints.

Golden color with a tight white head. Pine pollen aroma. Orange flavors with pale malt sweetness. A lot of flavor hops in this one - I like it. Almost has a Riesling wine quality, with a touch of new oak. Finishes clean with a touch of honey dryness.

Very light clear yellow. I like New Belgium beers and this one was great. Smooth and refreshing. I would buy this over any other New Belgium beer.
