COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

Bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow. Thin, but lasting, head with some good retention. Aroma is grainy & grassy with a bit of lemon in there. Taste is similar with a crisp mild bitterness in the finish.

Bottle; Pour is fairly clear medium golden, with a modest ,fine bubbled white head into this glass. It retains on the average / below average side of things. Caramel sweet grain, with florals and feint adjunct - It doesnt exactly impress. The flavor profile is light bitter, more adjunct, moving to sweet bread and floral hop presence. It’s lacking depth, and I find it overly sweet frankly. Well. It’s something

Golden color... Aroma of apple cider, light pilsner malts... Flavor is very cidery, lots of crisp pilsner malts without much harshness on the finish... Easy to drink, decent pilsner ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I just did not like this beer. It was light but had some off putting flavors. Kind of strange, maybe it was my batch. LIght upfront but the finish is a mix of malts, spice, and left over flavors.

Stamped on the bottom of the can, it reads "23 Nov 2014." Given the date, I’m assuming that this is a best by date which is New Belgium’s style. I poured this into a pilsener. The previous two cans were consumed out of the can. The appearance was a hazy golden yellow color with a slight transparency about it to allow light streams of carbonation to be seen rising. Three finger white foamy head dissipated leaving a messy sort of lacing. The smell had a sweet grassy and grainy sort of sweet corn malt to eventually allow a really nice sweet lemon to come in. The taste was mainly the sweet grassy and grainy corn. The lemon was no where to be found in the flavor. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was substantially good for the style and for me as it was there but nothing overbearing. Overall, I say this was a pretty good Pilsener made by an American brewer.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 1/4/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and clean mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a nice and pleasant Czech pilsener. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Dåse: Købt af alle steder i en Wall Mart, men efter at have kørt i Big Sur af Highway 1 falder denne øl virkelig på et tørt sted. Pilsnergul klar med et fint skumhoved. Smagen er let og frisk. Dejlig øl.

On draft. Unusually sour aroma for a pilsner. Flavors are grassy, spicy hops. Just as the hops begin to get going, they kind of dissolve into a crisp, dry finish. Little disappointing that way. Seems like yet another New Belgium beer that’s merely trying to be a bridge between Big Beer and craft beer.

In can. Floral notes of hops in the nose with a light mealtimes. Flavor is similar to most lagers with a light sulfur and stickiness.
