Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ĎBlue Paddleí refers to the implement our warehouse managerís Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europeís finest pilseners.

Drank from bottle. Pours a very clear yellow. Hint of hops, grassy, some fruityness (very subtle). Very smooth and drinkable. Good Pilsner.

Clear, golden body under a one-finger, foamy white head that did not foam away instantly. Pale malt aroma with peppery hops behind. Balanced flavor with a gentle malt sweetness giving way to fresh herbal and pepper notes that linger. Crisp, effervescent feel in the mouth while the body itself is more hearty. Good session beer. ~~~~ 12 oz. bottle from a friend at a BBQ.

Yellow fizzy stuff. Tastes like a buttery biscuit. Smells like corn. Not my preferred style. Can drink this all day.

Pours a straw color. Very clear. About one finger head. Very nice lacing and retention. Pretty well carbonated.

Aroma is hoppy. It smells like a pilsener. Nothing fancy or notable.

Taste is also like a pils. Itís hoppy, slightly malty. Itís earthy. Itís good, itís true to form, but thereís nothing out of place. Not that that is bad. If Iím at a restaurant and I order mac and cheese and it has apple chunks in it, I would observe that as a bad thing. If it had chorizo in it, I might think of it as a good thing. Same with this, itís nothing odd, special, or different.

Mouthfeel is quite crisp, refreshing. Itís pretty dry. Itís medium-light body. Again, nothing special. Itís true to style.

Overall, itís good. Itís not great. But certainly a solid pils. If I were thirsty for a pilsener, I would certainly not be shy of this. Sorry Miller Lite, this is a good true pils.

Bottle thanks to Kyle! Pours a clear gold with near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grain and bread with a touch of straw. Flavor has a good amount of sweet grains and straw with a touch of grass.

Tasted from can. Pours a clear gold with white head. Aroma is grassy, grains and a little medicinal. Taste is mild to moderately sweet with no bitterness. Flavors of caramel, grass, hay. Overall above average for a Pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. Poured clear amber with a white head. Light sweet malt aroma. Medium body, creamy-ish carbonation with a moderate dry finish. Caramel malt with some herbal hop flavour.

Poured from the can into a shaker glass. Clear light golden color with a white head. Aroma is light malt and lager yeast. Flavor is the same. Light bodied with crisp carbonation and a mildly bitter finish. I canít remember the last time I had a pilsener, but this seems pretty on par for the style.
