Sampled at C&P Otown Throwdown, big thanks to Fogdog! Pours a nice amber orange, slightly hazy. Sour cherry citrus vinegar aroma. Taste is tart cherry citrus, malt sweetness and some funk. Interesting sour.

Bottle shared by pepsican. Thanks! Poured a clear medium orange color with an off white head. So so smells including the likes of sour cherry, subdued hay, and cereal grain. There was also a whiff of adhesive tape. Light to medium bodied with carbonation on the higher end of the spectrum. Acidity was was about 4 out of 10. Tasted predominantly of sour red fruits and tart red wine.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2009 Still reddish brown. Red wine vinegar, exotic yet stable. Still in the glass, ruby brown. Fruit forward, some wood, biting and grabs on in the end. It’s less bracing and complex than the la folie in a more approachable way. Pie cherry, damp hay and love. 080909 Lovely funky grassy footy lemony dry aroma. Heavenly. Oh hell yes. Tart cherry, lemon, wood softened beauty. Hibiscus. Seriously. I went back for more without shame, how much better can this beer get?
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 CanIHave4Beers (2495) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - MAR 10, 2009
Sampled compliments of Pepsican. I loved this. The aroma was wonderful with some good Riesling and cherry notes, of course some good farmhouse funkiness. The flavor is dry and sour with a great little malty sweetness for balance; this is largely sour and has a great funky character with plenty of oak and vinous flavors that work very well in the mix.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2009 highly tart taste that fades quickly into base palate. Quite a delicious first taste, I wish it lasted longer. re-taste pale orange color with a super sour taste that indeed fades quickly into a balanced finish.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2009 On tap at Brouwer’s. Pours cloudy orange amber with a decent head. Nose is a dusty, nutty, peanut buttery funk, a little bit of coffee, and a sourness that’s there but pretty much buried. Flavor is pretty much the opposite- mostly the tart citrus taste. Nice lasting sour finish.

draft at brouwers, i think i made a mistake by drinking this side by side with deviation, oh well. pours a hazy orangish color with minimal white bubbly head. aroma is slightly sour with oak notes and kinda musty/dusty. flavor was great up front with a strong sour punch but kinda had a funky aftertaste, probably from the addition of special brett, funky and good!! the palate a was a little off for me but still good, there was a real clash a flavors which i thought came from the blending. some good oak flavors come out once it warms up. i liked it better colder rather than warmer near the end. crazy sour blend!!!

So this is the next great big awesome sour! This is the best beer ever made people, Make sure you trade for it now, right this instant. Believe the hype, because it is all true. It was definitely worth fighting for position, boxing out, climbing over old ladies, women and children to get, and forming such a long line that the normally pleasant friendly staff of the store were reduced to beer boxing robots in no mood for anything except getting the advancing horde out of the store and back to normal operations of the day.
That being said, this one has a nice initially tart acidic aroma, a touch of fruity sweetness as well, following is some dusty funky brett notes and some cheesy funk as well. Pours orange with a fizzy white head to start that reduces to nothing in a quick minute. Super tart and sour right upfront, a shock to the taste buds, this mellows almost instantly to a less intense cheesy funk with an underlying vinaigrette fruitiness too, but not sweet at all. Some sour acidic in the finish, dry, bretty, and funky finish.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 AmEricanbrew (4868) - Belcher, Louisiana, USA - FEB 26, 2009
Bottle samples@ Bottleworks, and draft @ Brouwers 25 Feb 2009. Perhaps NB’s best sour ale to date. Hazy amber color. Lots of wood, funk, and citrus/cherry fruits in both the aroma and flavor, with a medium balsamic sourness throughout. This is a less sour, and more drinkable version of La Folie. Great blend.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 crackedmachine (412) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 26, 2009
It is a challenge to find the words to do this beer justice. I love the color - a beautiful, cloudy orange. Pungent aroma. Very tart, yet very flavorful. Strong taste of sour, citric fruits and vinegar. Tart. Delicious.
