3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours dark brown, black in the glass, with a medium diminishing tan head, very fine lacing. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, grass, woody, and maybe oysters. Medium body, just a little thicker than a porter, smooth. Medium sweet, with a medium bitter chocolate finish, a hint of slat and umami. Well balanced and enjoyable.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a thin beige ring. Bits of sticky lacing throughout the glass. Nose is a little sweeter than expected; roast, espresso, and faintly smoky. Taste is smoky, dry, and roasted malt. Easy drinker.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Thick and roasty milk cocoa on the nose. Hints of the sea buried in there somewhere. Flavors are soft and chewy up front, thick and bold in the back. Hints of dirt, burnt chocolate and coffee, yet sweetness from what I’d think was the shells? Who knows. I don’t fully get or taste the oyster in most of these so called ’Oyster Stouts’, but I’ll keep drinking them when they taste this good!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bought this bomber for a recipe I’m making tonight. I needed 12 oz of dark beer for that; the rest is going down my throat right now. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, coffee, licorice. Pours opaque black with a medium beige head with decent retention. Taste is bittersweet and savory with flavors of licorice and a unique flavor that I can trick myself into believing has a briny, faintly fishy character that I assume is from the oysters, but if the words "oyster stout" weren’t so boldly prominent on the label oysters would not have even crossed my mind. Tastes very imperialish, more than straightforward stout. Carbonation is spot on for style, mouthfeel is oily, full-bodied. Tasty stuff.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
For the ABV, I really like this one a lot. Smooth base stout -- flavorful, slightly roasty. A tinge of bitterness. Great mouthfeel for the relatively low alcohol level. A tinge of sweetness. Recommended.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml brown bottle. Bottleshare at Ferris’. Deep brown in colour, fast fading head leaves a ring in the glass, a bit soapy looking. Nose has chocolate, and earth. Taste has earth, dark chocolate and coffee. Roasty finish with good lasting bitterness. A good porter, didn’t get much oyster character though.

Bottle - Slight sweet and salty roast malt. Jet brown with a beige head. Roast malts and a little light brine. Not bad, actually quite good.
