COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in honor of our founder Jeff’s bike trip through Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineer’s home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Jeff found the Belgian approach freeing. Upon his return, Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale, (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife, Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire’s appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it. Except the name. Fat Tire won fans is in its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.

Not my favorite new Belgium anymore but still a great beer. Taste is very strong but I wish the aroma were a bit more hoppy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nutty, smooth, not hoppy. Almost more like a brown without the fullness. More of a summer to fall beer.

Tap. Amber with a good sized head and nice lacing. Caramel and malty aroma. Taste is the same with some nuttiness. Thin on the palate but easy to drink.

Meh. Pours a light amber brown with a fairly thin white head. Tastes like nothing special. No great complexity to the flavor. A bit hoppy, but not my favorite Fort Collins beer.

pours a nice amber color with a frothy white head. Has a great aroma of caramel, toast, citrus, with a floral finish. Tastes great it’s too bad I had to be in Georgia to try it. Hopefully this beer reaches my shelves soon.

Amber ales are not my favorites, but this one was a fine amber beer, fine aroma, fine taste, not excellent, but it is a good balanced beer, have some flavors that I couldn’t identify.

bottled. seemed a little on the stale side - muted biscuity aroma, lightly grassy, faint yeast bite, not much to rave about

Bottle, overall its good but not really that great. A bit malty with afterthoughts of slight hoppiness.
