2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from the Bear River Bar, Steamboat Springs, Co. Clear light amber, thin off-white head. The aroma is of sweet malts, caramel. The taste is sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Easy to drink but pretty boring.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The nostalgia is heavy here. When the distribution circuit wasn’t that prominent I would load my trunk full of cases when driving home to Minnesota.
One of the dominant amber ales of the early 2000’s. This malt heavy, low head, reddish amber is classic. Perfect with a meal. There may be better ambers out there now. It its prime, it was the king.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Best by date: 02.02.14.
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 01.03.14.
A: See through amber/red. No head with aggressive pour.
S: Malt, raisins, caramel.
T: Caramel is dominant. Toast is there too. Subtle hops.
O: This is a decent amber. I would not seek it out, but it would be a good beer with a meal if the alternative was an AAL.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Transparent crimson brown. No head. Unimpressive malt and caramel aroma, but a much more satisfying taste. Thin, smooth, and refreshing combination of malt, caramel, and mild dried fruit. Dry, sweet and mildly hoppy finish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is a standard Amber ale. Nothing super special about other than its wide distro and happy hour specials at bars with too much stock.
