COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in honor of our founder Jeff’s bike trip through Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineer’s home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Jeff found the Belgian approach freeing. Upon his return, Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale, (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife, Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire’s appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it. Except the name. Fat Tire won fans is in its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.

Good session beer. One of my go to beers when I?m out. Not my fav but very drinkable. Not too bitter with a slight citruis after tast. Good balance with slight lacing on the glass.

355ml can from Saveur-biere.com

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of fruits and malts. Taste is malty, grassy and easygoing with some caramel and toffee notes. Finish is sweet and malty. Decent, light bodied and easy going amber ale.

35,5 cl can @ home, BBE 22.06(07?).2014
Aroma has resiny hops and some fruits. Feels a bit musty. Also caramel. Flavour has fruity hops, some harsh malt, apricot and caramel. Also some mineral tones. Easy-going and straightforward.

Guess I am just not a fan of amber. Well balanced with a slight malt forward character.Taste has a bit of sweet caramel and toffee. Finish is long but consistent will the taste.

Light aroma, a bit floral. Not much but malt and toast in toast. Easy on the mouthfeel. Smooth finish. Ok as a sessionable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sweet smell and amber in color, this beer initially has a caramel taste, but then a slight floral hop and clean finish make this a great session beer.

Poured from a can. Amber as can be. Slight off-white head. Aroma is sweet, sugary malt with a bit of roast and grass. Taste is lightly roasted malts, a bit of red apple, grass, cereal. Slightly above-average, non-offensive amber.

Tap: Translucent copper body with an off-white, fluffy head. A little lacing left behind. Aroma is super-malty caramel & toasted nuts all day with a little bit of cocoa dust. Super caramely. Taste is the same, burnt caramel, toffee, & a lighter presence of chocolate with roast underneath. Sweet, about 95% malts with 5% hops peaking through, adding a hint of floral bitterness in the finish. This stuff is liquid caramel malt juice. Decent, but pretty generic all around.
