Fat Tire Amber Ale, 5.2%, the beer that back in the day started New Belgium on the road to success. I finally tracked down a bottle(thanks Sugaya!). A clear warm amber gold with a thin off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel, biscuit & nuttiness. It’s medium bodied with a zesty light carbonation. The taste is malty sweet, toffee, biscuit, caramel. A nice beer, good as an everyday ale but it’s not up to the huge flavor bombs people are used to these days. Worth trying for the historical aspect at the very least.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Draft at World Of Beer, Key West. Clear amber color with small creamy off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of caramel, biscuits, spicy hops and with heavy fruity notes. Taste starts with moderate sweet biscuit malt, caramel and refreshingly sour fruity and yeasty following. Mouthfeel is mild spicy, while finish is light hoppy. Medium to full body, syrupy texture and average carbonation in palate. My rating could be biased, however this brew deserves top score with me and my better half, because of being one of the best drinkable and refreshinf ales so far...

Light gold pour, very quickly disappearing head, heavily carbonated. Smells like toast, a little floral. Taste is biscuity malt, light bitterness

This has got to the most heavily carbonated I’ve ever seen. A couple of minutes after the pour and there still hundreds of bubbles. LOL. I thought I liked this more than I do as I taste it now. Nice bitter front end without too much of an alcohol taste. After discovering some other New Belgium offerings that are now available, I’d pass on this in the future.
