boFNjackson (540), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 21, 2006 Tap..ruby color with a nice frothy white head. I couldn’t get much of a good aroma from it, just a little earthy. It had a great fizzy palate with earthy tastes of malt, maybe some grainyness and a very mild hop presence. Enjoyable mixture of flavors. Clean finish. One of my favorite amber ales.
ChristianScheffel (2216), Odense, Denmark Oct 10, 2008 Slightly hazy amber with a lasting white head. Aroma has tangerine and peach and a hint of malt. Dry, fruity and caramel flavour, with a little husk-like astringency. Too carbonated to be pleasant. nqualls (422), Tennessee, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a small tan head. Aroma of spices and caramel. Flavor was nutty with caramel and a slight hop note. Medium body with good carbonation. Cory (10), , California, USA Sep 30, 2008 Bottle. A nutty, alcohol aroma, a nice burnt orange color, a little acidic at first with a lingering toasted finish. Smooth and fizzy across the palate. Great light beer! darn1207 (331), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 30, 2008 on tap at the mariners game. light amber pour. sweet floral spice and caramel aroma. bready caramel malt taste backed with light hops. not bad, but a little too sweet for me. K6.5 DrHomolka (601), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 28, 2008 12oz bottle best by Dec 12. Pours a clear, dark golden color with a small but well retained white head. Aroma is plesant toastiness. Just a touch of roast, biscuits, malty. Kind of reminds me of Great Lakes signature flavor, that toasty biscuit like aroma that is in most of their beers. This smells better than I thought it would (I did not have high hopes for this beer). Flavor is not as good as aroma. Same qualities though more watery and bland. Some toastiness and caramel like flavors but they are quite watery. Short finish. Low bitteress, nil hop flavor. Light/medium bodied. This is what I expected overall.
