COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in honor of our founder Jeff’s bike trip through Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineer’s home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Jeff found the Belgian approach freeing. Upon his return, Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale, (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife, Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire’s appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it. Except the name. Fat Tire won fans is in its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.

I do not think that the belgian yeast flavor goes at all with this beer. I first tasted this beer with such anticipation as I heard so much good about it. What a letdown! There were 3 of us and we couldn’t even finish 1/2 of a bottle. I don’t see what the deal is with this beer.

Medium amber pour, small off white head. Sweet malty aroma, light nuts, and some brown sugar, with very light grassy hops. A pretty basic easy drinking, brewed for the masses amber. Middle of the pack.

Dåse: Flot ravfarvet øl. Klar let humlet.

Notada amadeiras e malte. Consegue manter um equilíbrio, refrescanci e garantir um drinkability razoável. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml can from Saveur-biere.com

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of fruits and malts. Taste is malty, grassy and easygoing with some caramel and toffee notes. Finish is sweet and malty. Decent, light bodied and easy going amber ale.
