pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA Apr 3, 2008 Updated: Apr 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle in Tulip glass (as per the little picture on the label). Poured a clear copperish-red with a substantial white head. Aroma was malts and baked goods. Lacing was really quite impressive, frankly, as was the taste. Is this the Second Coming? No. It is, however, a tasty brew. Nice malty flavor, some sweetness, some hops. As a step up from the usual swill it works. I’m not sure it merits the overhype (and the overprice), but some hype would be fine. I could see this sessioning well, which would make it better than most beers that are sessionable. Trust me when I say that I really wanted to hate this beer, but it didn’t allow me to do so. It works for sitting around with your father-in-law and everyone gets to feel like they aren’t drinking crap and compromising themselves. Drop the price, drop the attitude and I’d be fine with keeping some of this in the fridge to drink with my friends who don’t deserve or appreciate something really unique.
tturner (13), , Washington, USA Oct 15, 2008 a subtle hoppyness saves this beer. pours to the orange side of amber. quick white head dissappears abruptly. not bad, not wow, just so so. on the otherhand, it is versatile and takes a back seat to other flavors, which probably accounts for it’s poplularity. For me, its my least favorite release from this brewer. chokmah33 (108), Bremerton, Washington, USA Oct 13, 2008 Aromas of lighlty toasted malts, vegetable and grass. Flavor dominated by burnt toast malts, carmel candy sweetness, and floral hops.

Dry, fruity and caramel flavour, with a little husk-like astringency. Too carbonated to be pleasant. nqualls (422), Tennessee, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottle.
