COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in honor of our founder Jeff’s bike trip through Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineer’s home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Jeff found the Belgian approach freeing. Upon his return, Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale, (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife, Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire’s appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it. Except the name. Fat Tire won fans is in its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.

Pours orange in color. Definate flavor of malt, and grains, buscuit is the perfect desctription. Not a long lasting finish. Great drinking beer. Reasonably priced, smooth, good taist. I like it.

Bottle650ml. The beer has a light amber color. Clear beer, well filtered. Soft water like mouth feel with medium density texture. Aroma is bread, spiced bread, a bit yeast reminding me fresh, sweet yeasty dough. Fruity esters with a bit pear and apricot. Flavor is a bit dull and going into dry dough with esters. Bitterness is delicate with some clove in the aftertaste. Easy to drink but not much character.

Bottle at home. Can’t believe I have never ticked this thing - thought it was finally time. Clear Amber-orange pour with a big white head and sticky lacing. Big bready aroma - some huskiness, light green apples, dough, and yeasty. Taste it bready, straw, husks, lightly grassy, and lemon rinds. Medium body with high carbonation. Nothing special but a well built Amber.

Poured out of a bottle. Amber brown with slight copper hue. White head that disappears quickly with little lacing. Has a unique yeast profile with roasted caramel and toffee flavor. Thin mouth feel and crisp carbonation.
