COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Frambozen begins with the aroma of fresh red raspberries, followed by the ripe seductiveness of a fruity brown ale with depth and delicate malt notes. It is deep ruby in color, with flavors just as rich. Every year, New Belgium sends a delegate to the Pacific Northwest to oversee the process of turning freshly picked berries into a pure juice to be added in fermentation. The coming of Thanksgiving at New Belgium is ushered in with the first sighting of our cellar operators scuttling about, covered head to tow in a festive crimson berry wash.

Bottle. Pours clear red, with off-white head. Smells slightly belgiany with a strong raspberry aroma. Has a very raspberry flavor with a slight nuttiness to it. Touch of sourness on the finish, not much though. Overall, a decent beer.

12 oz bottle pours a clear, brilliant ruby with a small white head. Aroma is raspberries, a little isovaleric, a little ethyl acetate, but all of the aromas complement each other. Flavor is raspberry, but not so much that you forget youíre drinking beer. Light bodied considering the abv. Crisp, clean, very nice.

Somehow the last bottle of this got pushed to the very back of the fridge. So to start out with the bottle I am using for this review is about a year old. With that said... A light brown brew with small head that dies off to a lace fairly quick. Smells of fruit and bread, sorta like a fruit cake. Taste is dry, caramel, rasberries, not the best thing I have ever had but interesting. Last time I tried this like a say was a year ago. Canít remember how this was then so not sure if this aged well or not. Itís not bad but not something I would like to have again. Sorry, when I drank it last year for some reason I did not make any notes about it. May have been better when it was fresh.

12 oz bottle. Deep red and clear with a pinkish white head. Aroma is mostly raspberry fruitiness with floral, toasty, earthy and woody notes. Similar flavor with a nice malt presence, nuts, caramel, light chocolate. Tart and kind of sweet, pretty easy to drink with a semi-dry finish. Pretty tasty.

Pours a straight amber color with light-to-no head. Raspberry and toasted malt aroma. Balanced raspberry and malty roast flavor. Not bad.

Reddish brown with a quickly fading off-white head. Aroma of raspberries, caramel and bready malt. Taste of raspberries, light caramel and sweet malt with a dry finish.

12oz single bottle at home - Pours a gorgeous, clear crimson red color with a fizzy off white head. Aroma is faint fruit and a little sulfur. Flavor and body are subtle and thin. Tart cherry / raspberry notes are nice, the finish is dry and a little boring. The label says raspberry brown ale which I find a little misleading seeing that in appearance and flavor this beer has nothing to do with a brown ale. Not much going on here but itís not a bad beer by any means.

Smells of raspberry and roasted malt. Raspberry is not sweet, sugars fermented out, but flavor is great. Very enjoyable Iíve the brown ale base. Get a bit of a bitter finish from the brown ale base. This is a great winter beer. Enjoy it much more than the traditional winter spiced beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Very red pour, translucent, with a light tan head. The aroma is of fresh raspberries, light malty notes also. The taste is pretty full bodied and finished quite dry, slight taste of raspberry with a very malty finish. Overall a mild raspberry brown ale.
