3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2005 Pours brownish-garnet color. Medium head and a bit of lacing. Tastes like over ripe raspberries almost to the point of being pruney. Sweet and balanced with the malt with virtually no hop flavor. I think I would like this much more if it had some tartness on the back end but Iím not a huge fan of raspberry to begin with.

Best by: 24FEB12
A: brown with a finger of pink tinged foam which falls to a mirrored surface in minutes. No lace. Excellent clarity.
S: Smells like raspberries, sugar, and the slightest hint of classic brown ale.
T: Tastes like a brown ale with raspberry effervescence. Really delicate in the frambozen realm if you ask me, itís fleeting in presence and is quite disappointing.
M: Thin with low carb and wet finish.
O: Meh, likely wonít have again. Might be good warm (as in, 100 degrees with a little honey jager in it).

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The color of this beer is a really pretty auburn with a medium off-white head with a reddish tint. The aroma is a strong raspberry scent, and the taste is mkldly sweet and a touch sour. The palate fuses an average carbonation, medium body, slick and thin texture, and a sweet finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Old Chicago. This is the best fruit beer I have tasted. The aroma is a perfect blend of raspberries and malt, and the taste just reinforces it.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle purchased at Four Firkins. Unexpected fruit beer for a Sat night. I really wanted to hate it but it just wasnít that bad. No head or lacing to be found. Smells like raspberry...obviously. Taste follows suit. Honestly doesnít taste much like a beer. Starts better than it finishes...kind of falls off the table. I guess if you have to drink a fruity beer, this one could be OK.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle served in a pint glass. Pours dark amber red with a medium thick fizzy white head. Aroma is rich cereal malt with pleasant floral berry fruit notes. Taste is thin light caramel malt with mild juicy raspberry and cherry notes. Faint natural sourness on the finish. Simple brown ale; but with nice fresh berry flavors without being too sweet or cloying. Would be a perfect dessert beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Best before: 02/23/14. Mine says 6.5% ABV. Pours a clear ruby with a thin quartz head. The aroma is made up of raspberries, caramel, sweet cereal grains, Sweet Tarts, some lemons, and a hint of nuts. Thin to medium-bodied on the way down with a relatively high level of effervescence. A touch of caramel and some sweet cereal graininess starts things off taste-wise. The slightest touch of earthy/nutty qualities in the middle. Lots of tart & tangy raspberries and some sour lemons finish things off. A tasty dessert beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours clear red, with off-white head. Smells slightly belgiany with a strong raspberry aroma. Has a very raspberry flavor with a slight nuttiness to it. Touch of sourness on the finish, not much though. Overall, a decent beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle pours a clear, brilliant ruby with a small white head. Aroma is raspberries, a little isovaleric, a little ethyl acetate, but all of the aromas complement each other. Flavor is raspberry, but not so much that you forget youíre drinking beer. Light bodied considering the abv. Crisp, clean, very nice.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Somehow the last bottle of this got pushed to the very back of the fridge. So to start out with the bottle I am using for this review is about a year old. With that said... A light brown brew with small head that dies off to a lace fairly quick. Smells of fruit and bread, sorta like a fruit cake. Taste is dry, caramel, rasberries, not the best thing I have ever had but interesting. Last time I tried this like a say was a year ago. Canít remember how this was then so not sure if this aged well or not. Itís not bad but not something I would like to have again. Sorry, when I drank it last year for some reason I did not make any notes about it. May have been better when it was fresh.
