3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice copper color that has a bubbly creamy light tan head. Smells of coffee, and true the lemon does come out a wee bit in the nose, but is definitely more prominent in the aftertaste. The espresso adds a nice character to the flavor and drinkability of this brew.
Part of the Folly pack I picked up when I was out on the Oregon Coast. Wasn’t sure what to make of it...but I knew I wouldn’t be let down by the other three offerings in the pack.
Seriously, I think I could really like or really hate this been depending on the day. Today, it falls into the I like side of the fence.
It’s akin to iced coffee, that someone snuck a lemon wedge into thinking it was iced tea.

Dark amber with off white head. Nice, strong coffee aroma. Same in the flavor. Just a touch of citrus.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bought this as part of a mixed pack on my hunting trip last year. I don’t really like coffee or lemon, so this score is about where you’d expect from me, maybe even a little high, as you can easily discern both flavors. Forgot the bottle opener, so I had to use the deer’s brow tine to open the bottles. Gotta find something when you’re thirsty!

Have I mentioned that most of New Belgium’s beers taste like Fat Tire except for many of the Lips of Faith series?

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Wow, this is actually pretty good. Clear mahogany brown pour with very faint diminishing offwhite head. Nose smells of chestnuts and espresso beans. Big malty/nutty flavor with more toffee and caramel. I don’t find the lemon peel other than perhaps a slight bitterness of zest. The coffee is very remote, and in my opinion, the way it should be. A slight bit metallic and vegetal though. Decent job on this.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Man, this is a pretty good beer. Dark with a nice espresso kick and a twist of lemon. There’s very little bitterness, just enough to know you’re drinking beer. This is a fine one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a very dark amber with a small tan head mostly dissipating. Nose is coffee and malt. Fairly creamy on the palate, the taste is of coffee, slightly burnt malt, toffee and a slightly dry hop finish. Lemon peel is lost in the coffee flavor. Good beer but not top tier.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
An unexpected new favorite for me. Won't replace Breakfast Stout anytime soon, but it's got a great coffee nose/taste for such a (relatively) light beer.
