COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop kitchen series #6. We teamed up with our hometown hop heroes at Odell to brew a FOrt COllins collaboration. Our proximity allowed sharing of ingredients to create this unique Pale Ale. If only we could employ prairie dogs that in habit the space between us to courier the Fawcett malt, an Odell standard, we used to complement our favored Centennial, Cascade and Citra hops. Best enjoyed with a neighbor!

22 oz bomber at $4.99. Good "bang for your buck" beer, and excellent for a pale ale. I would classify as more of an IPA, and this is a tasty solid beer with the citra hops providing the most flavor.

Tap at SIdedoor. Deepish amber-brown body. Steady thick beige head. The citra gives it a touch of the new, but otherwise this is a straightforward IPA of ten years back. Thick malt tones, some brown ale-like caramel, nutty tendencies. Pleasant NW hops, but overall a little uninspired. OK. Touch of amber malt?

Originally rated on 6/23/14. Pours a transparent copper with a fluffy white head that leaves nice lacing. The aromas have a nice amount of orange, grapefruit, lemon and lime zest in the mix as well. Some bread and caramel malts are there too. The flavors match the nose, orange peel, earthy, pine and grapefruit. The lemon and lime come out as well. Caramel malts are there, but don’t seem to dominate. This has a clean finish. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeeel is the lighter side of medium-bodied with active carbonation. This is a solid collaboration. It borderlines being an IPA, but a good beer overall.

Super combination of multiple hops to fire up a combo citrus-pine tree aroma, then hearty barley malts (I think) to get a hearty bread scent and bread taste. It didn’t matter than the "enjoy by" date had long passed on this bomber, this was still delicious and a super find in the Discount Liquor (Milwaukee) bargain basket.

Poured a clear amber color with a white head. Nice hoppy aroma with pine and citrus. Some sweet malts too. Taste is not as bitter as I expected, smooth and creamy. Malty and a bit sweet. Overall not bad, very refreshing.

Best by date of 08.31.14. Poured from a bomber into a beer can glass on 06.23.14. A: 2 finger head that stays. See through orange/amber body. S: Strong red grapefruit. Maybe hop resin too. T: Follows the nose. M: Crisp. O: This seems to try to be a West Coast APA, but it falls short. It’s good, but there are better examples of the style. It does have a nice lingering bitterness with a sweet grapefruit flavor.

Bottle into IPA glass. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour. Aroma is fruity citrusy hops. Taste is fruity hops with a little maltiness. Awesome beer.

Aromas of toast, subtle caramel, earthy hops, subtle berry fruit. Clear brown, decently lasting off-white head. Initially a little fruity, bready. Medium bodied.

Bomber poured into a shaker. From older notes. Earthy and citrus hops, grains, toffee.

APPEARANCE - great pour from the bomber. Exactly what you’d expect from a pale ale. NOSE - Nose is more like an IPA than a PA. Light floral hopy aroma. I gave it moderate points bc it smells like an IPA more than a PA. FLAVOR - Something about it doesn’t sit right with me. It has an odd flavor that I can’t identify, but is counter to what I’d expect. The hop flavor holds, but where’s the malt balance? NOTES - starts with a great nose, but the flavor doesn’t match it. It tastes like an overly aromatic PA that is lacking in flavor in the front, but picks up a bit at the end.

Bomber. Copper with small off white head. Strong aroma of citrus, biscuit, and malt. Medium body, moderate citrus hop bitterness, biscuit, and some resinous notes. Hop presence a bit much even for an APA.
