4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2009 Lightly chilled.La Fin glass. Darker copper. Thick creamy froth, leaving nice lacing. Great color. Great fruity, soapy, hop aroma with a little bit of pine.. Maybe a bit of pale malt. Texture is creamy but a bit fizzy which seems to hide the malt character a bit but not to a fault since this seems to be what they were looking for. Upfront flavors of grassy hops and wheat. Following are the bready malts, rye, and leafy, hop dryness. Long finish of pine, and citric hops. The aroma just keeps opening up more and more. The flavor dries out more and the pale malts seem to open up a bit upon warming more. Overall a easy drinking hoppy, lightly malty, clean beer with a excellent hop nose and flavor. Although the deScription states it,this is not what I was expecting at all. Donít really see what more one could want from this beer. Darn good

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Golden pour with a white head. Lots of cattymess, pine, herbal. Strong bitterness. The cattymess and bitterness seem overwhelming. Typical I enjoy bitter styles but this seems putrid.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Herbal, grassy, mountain river, earthy aromas. Herbal, earthy, cracker, hoppy flavors. A hop forward golden ale, but not too hop forward, still feels very much like a golden. I enjoy the New Belgium throwbacks. Even though this isnít a favorite of mine, this would be a good camping beer. Could easily drink quite a few.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very mild slightly sweet aroma, pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Very interesting flavor, with a touch of sweetness from the wheat, and a hint of spice from the rye. These combine with earthy hop notes to come together quite well. Medium bodied, with a slightly slick mouthfeel from the oats. A very nice change of pace from the Marzens and pumpkin beers that usually come out for Autumn.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
what a nice surprise, especially being a sale beer! aroma is very well balanced light citrus and earthy hops and malt. soft on the palate, and tasty, even though the hops come through a touch more in the aroma than the smell. Very very nice seasonal for just over a buck a bottle. recomended. 10/18/09-had on tap for the first time. even softer on the palate...near perfect body for the style, and still very tasty and aromatic."
