COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Folie Brown: Using an Oscar, this beer is straight out of the fermenter before aging in the Foudre and therefore not a sour. This beer is a great example of a Brown Beer. ABV6.26 IBU 15

Bottle. Pours a clear, dark amber color with a thin, tan head. Has a hint of yaegar in the aroma. Nice, sour taste with a hint of malt. Sour taste, with some malt and hops in the background. Not too bad. But not what you would expect from a brown ale.

Also at Firkin Fest at the Happy Gnome. I wasnít too impressed with this one. Decent roasted malt, nuts, and mild fruitiness. Glad I got to try this, but not my favorite.

On Cask for Firkin Fest at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul 09. Great balance between lightly roasted malts and sweet malt character. Just a touch of hops blended well with the light roast flavor making this a well blended brew. Iím happy to have tried this.

Straight from the firkin at the Happy Gnomeís Second annual Firkin Fest. This beer was incredible - one of the best brown aleís Iíve ever had. A nutty flavor flavor and aroma with a smooth body that felt thicker on my tongue than it actually was. Not too hoppy like other brown aleís Iíve had locally, more of a session beer for a malt fan. This definitely explains why I love La Folie so much.
