Commercial Description:
La Folie Wood-Aged Biere, is our original wood-conditioned beer, resting in French Oak barrels between one and three years before being hand bottled, numbered and corked for your enjoyment. Brewmaster, Peter Bouckaert, came to us from Rodenbach – home of the fabled sour red. Our La Folie emulates the spontaneous fermentation beers of Peter’s beloved Flanders with sour apple notes, a dry effervescence, and earthy undertones.

Had it on bottle at Cheecky Monk at Denver. A nice and good tasting sour beer. A good and very complex beer. Colorado has a lot of good breweries

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Much foam, but disappears fast. Starts modest sourish, becomes increasingly sourish in the end. Very scratchy. Nice experience!

Reddish brown pour with a nice head. Aroma is tart and citric with a touch of metallic funk. A touch of sweetness up front followed by a ton of tart fruit, oak, funky yeast, cherries, lemon, vinaigrette. FInishes tart and dry and I thought it was pretty quenching. Best beer these guys make without a doubt. This might be a tad overlooked even at a 4.03 because it does not carry the hype that all these new special release beers have, but I think this is fantastic.

Pours multiple hughs of red in the proper glass - from brick to cherry. Small white head. Aroma of sour cherry and Russian vodka and apple cider vinegar and subttle smoky oak. It’s sour, but I taste the rind of brie and cooked Traverse City sour cherries. I am glad I have access to this!

Pours slightly hazy red/whisky with a small tan head. Nose is sour cherries, vinegar, malt. Flavor of sour cherries, camembert, apple cider vinegar at the end. Slightly chalky aftertaste. Om nom nom

2007 bottle: poured red/brownish with a small head. Aroma of apple cider and vinegar with a slight hint of caramel. Taste is similar, without the caramel, but with nice carbonation. This sour for me is very drinkable and refreshing. One of the more smoother sours, maybe since the bottle was a year old.

Bottle 75 cl. Sitting in the dark popping great beers. Thx mikkel and Jeppe. This one was presented as brewed by a former brewer from the begian brewery Rodenbach.... and if you didn´t know you could assurdly have guessed it, because this one has many similarities with its european sour brothers from Roeselare. The nose is buttery with strong notes of sour grapefruits. The appearence is nice and dark-golden with a light golden head. This sour-ale is for me to singular sour and i miss the complexity in its taste. Still there a hints of gooseberrys and fresh lemons and woodchips.
